You right. Apologies. These soldiers should not go out in the cold.
jarledb: You realise that that school children are out playing in -25 degrees right? While the solidiers from the UK apparently lack the strength to be out in less than -20 degrees weather?
resurrect: put your hand up if you remember how the USA attacked Iraq around 10 years ago..... thats right, cruise missiles and then tank rush. infantry are barely even needed on the battlefield anymore. mainly for clearing out buildings etc.
so the whole aspect of war has changed from what people here are trying to portray.
(have any of you tried to put up a tent in even -10c temperatures?)
Klipspringer:
No. And I would hate to try...
But if I was going to be deployed into an area with those sort of temperatures I really hope to receive some good training before doing so. Practical training that is, not just the theory.
Its a bit like deep sea diving or sending people to space. Where should they be sent for training? The aquarium and the air force museum?

I encourage you to go find a blast freezer and try just putting up a tent after you've gone for a run, while wearing equipment similar to that of what military personnel would. and even all the training in the world cant stop hypothermia.
Klipspringer:resurrect:Klipspringer:
LOL
You forgetting something. There are humans on both sides of the firing line.
The other territory you referring to has humans too. And war is not always about gaining territory. These days it can be anything, an uprising against the government can be classed as a war. Many nations are at war with themselves.
We dont need an enemy outside our borders to have a war. The military is trained and normally prepared for all of these kinds of threats.
A war is different from training though. also stop talking like an arrogant noob
Lets try and keep this civilized please.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

The British Army has proven time and time again that they are very tough. Your comment is inappropriate.

Not just the cold? How about outside, you never know they could trip up and hurt themselves
