Garden State

This is one of my all time favorite films. quirky and fun. Had to see it again on the new projector and in HD although not the best quality - could also be that they were just using a soft focus.

Speed Racer

Really enjoyed this light fluffy goodness. aimed at the kids but the colours on BluRay are just fantastic.

geekiegeek: Garden State

This was a fave of mine from the moment i finished it the first time.  I actually watched it twice in a row i loved it so much!  That scene in the quarry on top of the crane blew me away first time.

Harold and Kumar goto Gunatmano Bay: Quite funny, i really enjoyed the first movie so didnt quite no what to expect out of this one but its just as good as the original, same type of gags and unbeleivability but no rediculous scenes of them riding around on a cheetah this time

The Wackness: Really good film! i had read the reviews so knew it was going to be good. Set in the early 90's, its a bit of a drama with some funny scenes throwen in.

Thought the first was better, but loved the bottomless pool party :)

The Incredible Hulk - This was suprisingly good.  Leading up to it I didn't think there needed to be another Hulk movie, I actually enjoyed the Ang Lee version, but I was surprised how realistic the story was in this version and how well they've treated the original material.  Ed Norton was fantastic as usual, Liv Tyler was bloody annoying.  If I could have mixed the cast from Hulk and The Incredible Hulk I would have put Jennifer Connelly in this new one as the female lead.

William Hurt grated on me for a while but I grew to really appreciate his character.  The CGI was questionable in parts, but still believable enough to make for a really enjoyable film.  Loved the crossover between the Iron Man franchise and this one....I'm really liking the way these Marvel movies are developing and interacting.  I'm glad they're finally treating these comic franchises seriously instead of making them silly as has happened in the past.

I went on with my Wife to watch The Edge of Love. Supposed to be a girly movie, but even she didn't like it.

Watching some TV series lately...

I had a big post along the same lines as my previous ones but the server went down and I overwrote my copy of the text! DOH.

So simply put:

7 Years in Tibet - SUPERB - awesome on Blu-ray!  Never seen before, highly recommend!
Pineapple Express - Laugh out loud funny!  Great action and comedy!
Wall-E - Amazingly realistic animation, scathing commentary on society - loved that the most human characters were the robots.

Step Brothers:  This was a pleasant surprise really - I found it hilarious!  Recent movies with Will Ferrell and John C Riley have been hit and miss for me, but this one was just great!  They're so funny by themselves but even funnier together.  Check it out - it's not as bad as the trailer would have you think :)

But this was really good, watch out if the F bomb offends you though, this is definetly not reccomended for the sensitive. The insults these guys throw are classic! In fact i shall be watching it again this weekend.

Watched The Incredible Hulk the other night - better than the first but not by much.
Saw Death Race last night - leave your brain at the door and enjoy!! Great action flick with a bit of gore on the side, ending couldve been a tad better but cant have it all :)
