billgates:

2FA SMS code is working now for me :)

I just tried to login into my Amazon account and the SMS came through to my Spark mobile connection. I am turning off the SMS 2FA and just going to use my MS authenticator app.

Same. I removed my mobile number completely from Amazon and am just using Authy. At least I know that messages come through from them OK.

yeah - I'm now able to get otp texts from both Amazon US and Japan.
Interestingly, both the US and JP show delivered from the same number.

I wonder if it was fixed at Amazon's end or at Spark/Skinny's end??

It's been 4 days now since this OTP trouble.

I've tried to create another account to connect to their live chat, the guy told me to ring them.  When I try to ring them at night time, they don't accept calls.  Just going around in circles.  I'm with Skinny btw.

yeah - live chat were pretty insistent they wouldn't touch 2fa and I had to call them for that.
Got around it by asking them to just change the phone number on the account to another provider that is able to receive the 2fa text - so you might wanna try that if you have access to another phone with another company.

but . . . as of a couple of days ago I have been able to receive otp text on the skinny number I was having trouble with (and another couple here have indicated the same) - so you might wanna try triggering another login attempt and see if it works now.

Yes! I've finally received a text from Amazon.  Took almost a week for the Skinny system to work.

Talking to Amazon via Livechat didn't help much yesterday, going around in circles and end up with OTP on text messages.

Wow, actually received a code via Skinny today and got to log in too Amazon.

Anyone know if once you get your first authentication code they keep on coming/working or is this likely to be a once off ?

Once you are logged in, then change the activation method to "Voice", then every time you log in, Amazon will ring you.  It always works, where as text message does always work.

Authenticator method also works.

when I was having trouble the voice option didn't work in addition to not receiving text messages.
It seems to be fixed now - for both voice and text - but an authenticator app (with txt as backup) would be much more reliable.
