Back in my Amiga days, it was cool to have a handle regardless if you were on a BBS or not.... I was originally "NightOwl" but then found someone in the UK had been using that for software development, so had to come up with something else.

Was on the floor in the lounge looking at my father's book collection, and saw "XPD" by Len Deighton - bingo.

And it stuck..... 30 years later still going.

Common meanings for it are "unexploded bomb" or "expedient demise" - the latter being associated with the book.

I'm AKA "D", "FiikDuck" "Demise" in various circles.

Back in 2001, when I was 11, a new game boy advance game came out called Golden Sun. I then joined a website that had discussion tips and tricks about the game. G(olden) S(un) Maniac was born. I’ve used it for everything since.

World of Warcraft character name. I was required to switch from dps to play a part time healer for our guild, and one of our members had a habit of standing in the fire during boss fights. After most encounters the healer had to "Res(urrect) Nick".

I created my username back in the late 90s when my mates and I used to play laser strike at MegaZone in Auckland.  I was absolutely useless at it (high fire rate, low hit rate) so I wanted to go with Trigger (as in trigger happy), but when someone thought I was naming myself after a horse, I decided to adopt a username that reflected my popular anatomical trait I shared with some reptiles...

That too...  And fortunately, no scaly skin. :)

Just a new nickname version of my actual name, Waka. Had many over the years; wakatak (High School P.E name), wakdakadodaks (childhood name), waka-daka-ding-dong (cousins name), wakarua/wuks (university name), waks (1 half of the family), woks (the other half), wakie (sister specifically), wakanado (competitive darts name).

Wakrak seemed somewhat refreshing in comparison. Catchy as well.

I am neither particularly Handsome, nor particularly Dan.

This all started back in the Wayne's World days...there was a DJ who you only saw as a gag, after his dulcet tones were heard through the movie. He was Handsome Dan, I believe.

My friends were busy calling one another names and this one stuck for me. I'm Handsome Dan or Handsome Dan NZ all over the internets now.

I is who I is.

I particularly enjoyed this line in your signature, over the years: "Handsome Dan Has Spoken."
