Hi all,

I'm just wondering where peoples usernames came from.

Mine was from a game many years ago called F22 Lightning... I wasn't the best and kept getting shot down, hence the name.

I'm sure others have more interesting stories, just for some fun as some topics get a bit niggly 😎

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

Interesting ? Nope. But a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away) I was a bit of an aviation buff (still am actually) and fancied myself as the Red Baron, hence rb. The numbers are just numbers.

I forget. Something like the Simpsons or some similar cartoon had a character that often added “tastic” to the end of words. Like “bustastic” etc.

Mine was from Red Dwarf. TalkieToaster was the originally intended name but when I typed it into Foothills (a MUD from about 1992) from an internet connected VAX at Otago Uni it silently truncated the username to just "TalkieT"... No error, no option to change - just truncated the name and that was it.

Haven't changed it since, apart from some minor variations with capitalisation...

Mind you, I also have only gone one thing from paper/scissors/rock since 1994...

Cheers - N

Mine is from the old 4WD forums. I had a Hilux with a Chevy 350 in it... so it was called the "chevrolux".

My parents.  Though it replaced an old user name I'd used for a number of years for twitter etc....now generally only used on github.
