Download the beta of the upcoming app directly from Spotify. It's an awesome app and works well!

I have been nusing the free US version for a while, just bit the bullet and changed country to NZ to use the Premium service here. And it sucks. Songs take forever to start and the library seems limited. And no 30 day free trial. Think i'll go back to the US version next month. Sigh.

Thats strange as I am on a 30 day free trial with average internet and the songs don't even buffer they start instantly.

+1. The 30 day trial is working very well for me without any noticeably limited library or song loading issues. I can't see any reason why I won't continue with the premium version after the trial.

I realise there are regional restrictions in place, but are there any particular songs you're unable to find?

Songs start instantly, not a single song I haven't been able to find. At this stage I see no reason to end the trial Premium subscription and will most likely continue with it.

It's probably because I had a US account - the playlists won't sync entirely after I switched to nz. But also for example, Arcade Fire (Funeral) just throws up a message saying its not available on Spotify. I'll definitely go back to a US account - paying 100% for 80% of songs doesn't cut it for me.

I'll give it a +1 too, although I can't say I've had the same luck with always finding music. In fact the first albums I searched for (Dream Theater's Octavarium and Clutch's Blast Tyrant) either weren't found or had most of the tracks not available.

+1 for me to keep the theme going. I have found that songs are there most of the time but they can be hard to find. Music which isn't there like Pink Floyd I own anyway so just synch it manually from my computer. Choice as.

Same here; the majority of my play lists are missing 20% of songs.

Using the free 30 day premium trial here where songs load instantly, manage to seamlessly transition from wifi to 3g and stream playlists from my itunes whilst at the gym if that helps.

this is a slap in the face!

Are you guys following Spotify via Twitter? They send through some great playlists. Click the link and it opens the playlist in the Spotify App which you can then play and or subscribe to. Listening to "Celebration" and "Happy 71st Bob Dylan" playlists this morning.

Data usage and the related cost has not been discussed much. Is it because data use is expected to be negligible?

To those who have decided to stick with Spotify - how does the data usage factor in your decision. Do you expect to use broadband/adsl or 3G data? Do you have any idea of the amount of data you expect Spotify to use in a typical billing cycle?

Another issue I'd like to hear about is this: If you are using Spotify on your mobile connected to internet over wifi - how does the signal strength affect song play, are the pauses while tracks are cached?

I have not tried Spotify as yet - decided not to install when I saw the facebook issues mentioned in previous posts. I have tried Grooveshark before, but left it as I didn't like the delays in caching songs.

Lastly, Digital music has been around for many years now. I find it weird that people are getting onto services like Spotify and Rdio to find obscure (?) or relatively rare tracks. I would have thought that you would have already had this in your collection. What's the size of a typical spotify/rdio users music collection? If listening to the music you want (your choice of tracks) so important why haven't you taken the time to digitise your music collection already? Are you falling for a hype or looking to be different in the way you consume your music?

Let me stop there, there's quiet a bit of different issues that just sort of spilled out - maybe I should have raised these in separate posts or threads. And I realise that I have not read every thread on this issue so I may be posting in the wrong place as well.

Data is free for me :) I had Rdio for a month and used around 1GB of 3G data. At 8-10MB per song data can be used really quickly. You can select the lower quality stream which will cut this to somewhere around 2-3MB per song. You can also synch your favourite music on WiFi for offline playback (Spotify and music you already own, via iTunes for example).

There is no lag in streaming at all over 3G or WiFi it is freaky good. iTunes match is crap comparatively. I think I read somewhere that Spotify uses similar technology to Skype so peer to peer is this correct? If so the more users there are the better the streaming gets.

I have around 3500 songs so yes have all the old stuff i need. I'm using these streaming services to find music I like but don't know what it is, if that makes sense. Its a lot of fun to find a song that you like and then go through all of the artists songs. I have found hundreds of new songs that are old. The social sharing thing is also a bonus.
