I've been hanging out for Spotify to release in NZ. Looks like it might be soon as when you go to www.spotify.com now, it doesn't say sorry not available in your country yet. For some reason it loads the UK site??

It has been rumoured for a few weeks the service will be available "any time now"...

That means it thinks your IP is from the UK. Mine correctly says "Sign up to be first in line when Spotify launches in your country! Spotify is currently not available in your country. Enter your email address to be first in line when we launch!"

So no, not really. I actually sent them an email a couple of days ago asking if NZ Herald's article was a sign that a launch is imminent or unsubstantiated rumours... but no response yet.

I had been using the free US Spotify service for around 6 months up until very recently. The free service stopped in the states about a month ago, only to be bought back for a 'limited time'. But once they bought it back, my method of accessing it no longer works!

Totally bummed about it, since I used it daily. I'll definitely be signing up to a premium account once it drops here in NZ! Can't wait!

Well, they are hiring an Aus/NZ PR person in Sydney, but that job opening is still unfilled. So it's a ways away yet.

I'm also hanging out for Spotify to come to NZ, I currently have a free account signed up through Spotify Austria but I get German adverts which is a bit of a pain.

As soon as it hits NZ I will definately by the Premium package if they have the same content. I like the idea of using their offline music feature which allows you to sync 3,333 songs on up to 3 devices.

I use www.rdio.com for streaming music which launched here a few months back. $13.50 for full premium access (web and mobile). It truly does change the way you consume music - I listen to more music than I ever have before and tend to experiemnt with genres a lot more.

Rdio beat Spotify here and its a great service too.

I definitely consumed so much more music when I was using Spotify! So looking forward to using it again! Hope my playlists are still there!

Pretty sure JB Hi_Fis streaming service will land here at some point before summer too.
It's up and running in AU, has apps for Android and iOS and they say a WinPho one is coming. Offline storage on phone, playlists etc. I had a play when in Australia in April, it's pretty polished. They said something like 8 million tracks loaded so far.

Their pricing looks pretty good too. $99AUD for a year for the premium offer sure beats Rdio. I expect that Spotify pricing will be the same as Rdio here - although Im surprised that its not a better match cost-wise overseas.
For example - Spotify premium is 9.99 GBP in the UK ($20 NZD approx) and $9.99 USD in the US ($13 odd NZD).

Overall - it does appear that we get some pretty fair pricing - keen to see how Spotify price here (tomorrow perhaps).

Well, spotify seems to be live.

$12.99 for premium - so I'd say pretty good value there (50c cheaper than Rdio)
$7.49 for unlimited.

Im just pleased to see more services like this finding their way here.

Choice. I set it up as a free account then set up the 30 day free premium trial via the website.

Well I just created a Facebook Account to sign up. You can disable posting to the Facebook account via the settings in Spotify.

Setup and working well!

Darn, didn't keep all my playlists from the US version though.
