Beekeeper is mindless, no need to think for 1.5 hrs.

Rewatched Dune... now I get it! I do, yeah... so looking forward to Dune 2

Saltburn 7-8/10

A student at Oxford University finds himself drawn into the world of a charming and aristocratic classmate, who invites him to his eccentric family's sprawling estate for a summer never to be forgotten.

Don't be fooled by the blurb. This is a psychological thriller mystery drama with twists and turns. Comedic and horror. Alcohol abuse, drug abuse, general nudity, sex scenes and psychological abuse and general craziness.

Very gripping and intense.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Hypnotic - Can't remember which (legal) streaming platform I watched it on, but I acually quite enjoyed it.

Ben Affleck is a cop investigating the disappearance of his daughter, when he encounters a mysterious and sinister government organisation.

It has  afew twists and although it's somewhat predictable, it's not obvious...or at least not too obvious.

7/10 from me.

Saw Beekeper over the weekend.
I enjoyed it. It was very much a Statham movie. 6/10

Also went to see the Bob Marley biopic One Love at the cinema last night.
Cracking soundtrack, ineteresting glimpse into the world in which he lived and they way he was raised.
Very difficult to understand at times, due to the heavy Jamaican dialect the characters use.

Felt like it could've been an hour longer and still not covered evrything about his short life.

8.5/10

On Netflix, I enjoyed "Wendell & Wild"

It's stop-motion animation, by the same guy who did Tim Burton's "Nightmare before Christmas" and Henry Selick "Coraline"

Some of the supporting characters were annoying, but all the main characters were excellent.

I wouldn't recommend for kids under 13, as it covers a lot of issues around death, depression and rebellion.

For the demons, the comedian duo Key & Peele were the voice actors.

Also if you're a Christian fundamentalist, uncomfortable with sympathetic demons with human foibles, I wouldn't suggest.

Road House (1989)

Peak 80s action movie. A senseless plot about the best of the best bouncer philosopher in America. Ridiculous caricature villains, nudity that adds nothing to the plot, tai chi for no good reason, the protagonist getting his top off just cause, use of baby oil when no baby oil is necessary. One liners that make no sense but make you giggle.

It’s far better acted than most of these movies ever were and music is great. Such a good time.

74 1/2 out of 10.

Actually, that looks like it makes marginally more sense than the old one - and it has Jake Gyllenhall in it, so at least it's going to be well acted in parts - but then it also has Connor McGregor, so that's points deducted right there...

I was a big fan of the old movie, as I was young, it was the 80's and it was peak-action-movie-time. I can't imagine it's held up well at all - I'd likely give it a 74.5 out of 10 as well.

Meet Joe Black 7/10

Easy watch. I am now in love with 1998 Claire Forlani. The ending left me with a few questions.

Dune Part 2 - Had to re-watch Dune Part 1 first with the youngest (she hadn't seen it but wanted to) , finished that at 7.53PM, part 2 started at local Hoyts at 8.15PM - so effectively double feature :D

Enjoyed both, will be on my list to pickup physical copies.

We saw Dune II on Friday night. Funnily enough we pulled into our garage at the same time as our neighbours.. Remarked to my partner, oh I wondered if they went to the movies as well? Sure enough the next day I spoke to them and they had. However his wife hadn't seen the first one, and didn't like the second one. I did wonder how much sense watching the second would make without having seen the first one.

Anyway. I enjoyed number two. Slightly longer but didn't feel outrageous. I probably preferred the first one more as there was some aspects that I was really wowed by (IE the ornithopters). But I felt in the second movie Javier Bardem stole every scene he was in.

I'm still marinating over it as a whole. The first I couldn't wait to watch again at home. The second maybe not so much.

I like Roadhouse.

Haven't seen it for ages but must rewatch.

Patrick Swayze at his peak. Sam Elliot being Sam Elliot (does he age?). Jeff Healey (and band) doing the music - it was great.

Off to watch the trailer for the remake...

Yeah. I'm not expecting much. it's a Doug Liman film so it could be awesome or a total shitshow.

Dune part two at the movies last night.

It didn't feel too long, even though it was nearly three hours.

It was wordy and at times almost avant garde, but at no point did I want to get up and go to the candy bar or the bathroom.
Austin Butler is truly unhinged as the antagonist in this.

The political machinations work so well and mirror the book quite well, although I think another few hours would be required to completely reveal everything that is going on among the great houses.

The movie is spectacular. Absolutely breathtaking from a cinematic perspective.

10/10 from me.

I want more. I need a conclusion. I know it's being written. But I want the movie and I want it soon.
