neb: Just found an even crazier one, a drill/screwdriver adapter for an angle grinder. A screwdriver head running at 10,000 rpm, what could possibly go wrong?

Perhaps they are geared? Search for "Bristol chainsaw drill adapter" - I've used one for fencing jn the past and the auger would be lucky to spin at 300rpm full chat.

It doesn't mentioned any gearing, and it looks like the whole chuck turns.

A Bristol chainsaw adapter sounds disturbingly close to a Birmingham screwdriver.

Retailer mistake not in Braun marketing material imo.

All you get with the grinder adapter is a drill chuck that may fit the existing spindle. Grinders seem to be 5/8 x11, 10mm x1.25 or 10mm x 1.5. Some angle grinders do have speed control but even those would be too fast for the Forstner bit shown in the ad video.

There was a drill adapter specifically for drilling shallow ~10mm holes in logs to grow Shitake mushrooms. This version just looks like trouble. Early discussion of the concept mentioned an accident where an oversized, overspeed bit shattered and killed user.

neb: The white power [link removed] electric toothbrush. Braun really need to get someone to proofread/sanity-check their marketing before it goes out.

Not Braun's product name or advertising. The same retailer is dropping "power" in to the names of several products on it's website that create similar issues.

Hanlon's razor says this is likely stupidity than malice. But it's weird as it shows up in different products of different brands.

It looks strange indeed. The same does not appear for black products.

Why?

Is it;

a. You were personally offended,

b.  You were offended on someone’s behalf,

c.  Looking for something to be offended about today, or

d.  Some virtue needed to be signalled?

The particular item did not set out to be offensive and can only be assumed as such when taken completely out of context.

Recent experience would show how easy it is to unintentionally slip up and ‘cause offence’.

Whisky, Tango, Foxtrot indeed.

As was pointed out, it's also in other items, so how about...

e. There's clearly something stupid going on, so they should be alerted so that they can take action.

Why? Because there are idiots here and elsehwere who take any kind of reference to this sort of thing as some kind of legitimisation. Watching the Jan 6 hearings, I was shocked how Pavolvian the mob reacted to Trump's words. He said little while it was going on, but what he did say elicited an immediate response. When he said to go easy on the Capitol cops, people in the mob immediately began shouting that to the others. When he finally said go home, the same thing happened. They were literally hanging on his every word. He could have told them to jump off the roof of the Capitol building and they probably would have done that.

No, I wan't personally offended or offended on behalf of anyone or anything else at that unfortunate turn of phrase. As @freitasm pointed out, it was likely due to stupidity rather than malcious intent. That doesn't mean it should be ignored. I got rightly called up on the same kind of thing. So I sent a polite email bringing their attention to it. What is your objection to that?

One item is understandable. Four items, from different companies? Not sure. Could be some error. Could be some white supremacist using the system to have fun... "Black and White Power"?

If you have time for it a call to Braun's 0800 on Monday would be effective I think.

Since I sent the email, I will see if they respond to that first. If you want to ring them, feel free.

Nivea's copy has the words in different order

"NIVEA MEN Invisible Power Black & White Aerosol Deodorant offers powerful anti-perspirant protection without the risks of white marks on black clothing and yellow stains on white clothing." It's not black or white power, it's invisible.

Similarly Braun identifies some power (electric) models by colour where there's a choice. They even have a rose gold that's only about 1/4 the price of the matching iPhone.
