July 14 afternoon: Southampton, UK.
July 15 morning: Leipzig, Germany.
July 15 afternoon: Singapore.
I shudder to think what it cost to get it moved around at that speed.
I just got a shipping update:
Wait, what? Damn near a month later it departed the country of origin again? When you see 11-20 days expected shipping, don't go believing that nonsense!
I keep receiving packages that I ordered ~2 weeks previously - from BangGood. But stuff I order from AliExpress is doing super well if it arrives within 4 weeks, the last thing that arrived from AliExpress had claimed 14-25 days but turned up ~50 days later. Mostly you get the package, and if you don't you can open a dispute. But, if I can get the thing elsewhere then I'll generally not order from AliExpress because the waiting is so frustrating.
neb: On the opposite end of the scale, DHL from the UK:
July 14 afternoon: Southampton, UK.
July 15 morning: Leipzig, Germany.
July 15 afternoon: Singapore.
I shudder to think what it cost to get it moved around at that speed.
Yeah, DHL is faaast. Usually about a week delivery from China. But they run their own flights etc, so makes sense, + $$$.
4PX is also good (taobao offers them), if that's an option, cheaper than DHL but about the same speed, and uses CourierPost in NZ.
Also, not usually an option, but some sellers on Ali have stock in Singapore too, which atm ship much faster.
I'm currently going on 40 days transit with a parcel from China, currently stuck on "The plane entered the port" or "Arrival at the Destination" depending on the tracking site you use.
Looking around online it seems to mean the parcel has arrived in NZ, but is waiting in a customs queue.
I think my parcel was stuck in DONGGUAN for a few weeks while they had a COVID situation, and now is stuck in a big backlog of parcels as it sounded like most flights out of DONGGUAN were closed for a while.

Uncontrollable events have delayed delivery. We are adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible. Please check back on the next business day for updates
This was to Jacksonville, Florida, so I reckon it translates to "The USSS found out that the driver delivery it was in Washington DC on January 6th".
I've ordered two things off Banggood, one from Australia had the "In transit to local depot - Auckland Airport" status on 16/7 and has sat there since. One from China had the same message on 19/7 and was delivered on 20/7 🙃
Count yourself lucky, I'm going on 45 days here, and counting.

They're just covering their arses. My package with an estimated delivery date of September 30 turned up last Friday.
When using AliExpress Standard Shipping my delivery times haven't been too bad recently.
Today's delivery:

A couple of items have run longer, and a few have been even shorter. Seems to really depend on when it actually departs China and then how long it sits on this end before being scanned in.
My latest AliExpress order was shipped on July 28 and delivered on August 12, using AliExpress Standard Shipping. I was extremely surprised by the short timeframe. They're doing a far better job than Australia Post, where it can take 4-5 weeks to send a letter from Christchurch to Melbourne.
