I needed help myself too... but at least its not the ONLY reason I come here?

Agree, also frustrates me because my request for help is lost in the multiple "1 post" requests

Jaxson: Your mouse still has a cable?

Yes, and hopefully it will continue to have one, despite the kitten's efforts to remove it.

Visiting some fast food outlet and they ask you if you would like XYZ with that, without telling you that it costs extra.

For example, would you like bacon with that.    Of course I'd like bacon with that.    Who doesn't like bacon. Why even ask the question.     Ahhh, what they meant to say was would you like to pay $1 extra for some bacon with that.    Totally different story now.

Well, I have a new one. For some reason that escapes me, all the car washes in my area have suddenly 'upgraded' to brushless washes. I already knew what to expect, but I was in a bind so tried one today anyway. It happened to be a Mobile station but I doubt if that makes any difference.

Here is a newsflash, people: Brushless washes don't do anything, and I mean anything. They don't remove dirt. They don't clean. They don't do a single, bloody thing. They don't even clean the glass. They don't remove dust. They certainly don't remove muddy paw prints. They don't do a thing, except take your money. So what idiots decided, apparently all at once, that every single service station in the country should suddenly switch over to these useless water wasters?

Don't bother going to a brushless car wash. They are utterly incapable of removing even the slightest streak of dirt from your car. They are the most useless, pointless, non-functional, moronic, idiotically designed, do-nothing devices I have ever encountered. They must have been created by Microsoft engineers (see Windows 10 thread).

Well, thinking of the other thread that is going on at the moment "You know you are old when..... " ...... car washes actually worked and people had nothing to complain about - (before the lefty liberals saw their opportunity to get their teeth into them and complain about the so-called damage to the environment).

Lefty liberals complain about car washes?

Hey don't look at me. I'm all for car washes that work. My complaint is about those that don't.

It's called up selling, I'm sure you know that though. I've worked in Hospo before and you just get told to do it. I always felt awkward doing it, but at the end of the day, I wanted to get paid from my boss lol.

Same sh*t different year. It annoys me too, but I don't run GZ so try and not get involved too much. Obviously MF doesn't mind, so it is what it is.

It's not a small thing that annoys me. What annoys me (and moderators) and gets banned pretty quickly is people who join only to post a link to their university survey or their new startup. This is definitely not contributing to the community.

But for the specific case of the Mighty Ape competition, some Geekzoners participate in it, and having more people contributing is good for them too.

When I worked as a Pump Monkey we had to always ask the customer if they would like their oil checked. The theory was/is most people will say "yes" as it is polite/easier etc.  I hated checking oil, especially in a howling southerly snow storm so I always said "Your oil is ok isn't it?"... worked like a charm...well for me anyway.

You should be on the old person thread. How long has it been since any service station offered to check oil (or hired people who know where the dipstick is?).

Some 'Z' stations started doing it last year i think for a while -- as well as offering to top off your tank --  but, they canned that now I think.
