Even on AliExpress it can pay to check several of their vendors as shipping costs can vary quite a bit.
I recently had a bad experience where I ordered 3 rolls of 40A fuse wire, the vendor sent 2 rolls of 7.5A fuse wire. It was a long wait (around 2 months) to get the wrong quantity of the wrong product. I did get a full refund, but I still had to wait 2 months to find out that the wrong thing had been sent. I can't find 40A fuse wire anywhere else either, so I guess I'll have to try another AliExpress vendor to see if they can get it right.

40A fuse wire... would that be about the same size as a .22 bullet or a 6" nail? 😇

It is pretty fat wire!
All I know is that the 30A sometimes melts and that is pretty inconvenient when part way through a shower and the 8kW continuous shower unit suddenly stops being so continuous.
Is your shower wiring rated for 40A? Because, if not, your wiring may burn out 😲 before the fuse blows. And that would be a lot more inconvenient than the fuse blowing.

I am aware that 35A would be ideal, but I'm not aware of the existence of 35A fuse wire.
I would regard it as highly unlikely that an 8kW unit would be wired with wiring that can't take 8kW plus a reasonable margin for safety. Since 8kW at 240V would be 33.3A it is pretty reasonable to believe that the wiring can take a load of more than that.
It does take a while for the 30A fuse wire that I have to fail, this suggests to me that in normal operation nothing is subjected to more than 35A - but I still want fuse wire that can blow in the event of a short circuit and I believe that 40A is the closest I can find available anywhere.
Pleasantly surprised by my order of spares for my Xiaomi robot vac arriving 15 days after ordering. Just used their std shipping method.
I ordered something by ePacket yonks ago and it got shipped Aliexpress Standard and hasn't turned up. Meanwhile, a month later, another item I ordered with Aliexpress Standard has already arrived in Auckland. The level of inconsistency is amazing with that site isn't it?

I know that this is a bit off topic, but generally fuse wire will carry a significant overload before it will blow (50-100%)
Yeah, I guess that's why I can go for quite some time on the 30A before it blows. But the load wouldn't exceed 35A and the 30A wire will eventually fail, which is really inconvenient when it does happen.
Bought some wireless cards (two separate orders) on 29 July, both shipped on 'China Post'. They both arrived on the 20th of this month.
Anyone still waiting on stuff sent from early July? I'm going on 76 days in transit. I've started an investigation with the seller 🤞
Particularly interested in others who have a tracking code like LE123456789CN and the parcel has gone through Dongguan and/or Guangzhou then "MH" (MH = Malaysia Airlines)
This tracking site seems to be one of the more accurate indications of what city/country your parcel is really in, it'll say NZ under location when it's actually arrived in NZ. Not "Arrival at the Destination" updates when not even close to NZ yet.

One (of 2) parcels sent in the same week, same carrier seems to be stuck on "Waiting for airline space"... though I feel like they're both mia at this stage.

To be fair there are a LOT less airplanes flying currently, due to the pandemic. That having been said: I ordered a couple of things in June, both arrived a while ago. I've ordered 6 things in August and 1 has arrived, I have no idea when each of the other packages will arrive.
In contrast: The last package I received from BangGood arrived 9 days after I ordered it. They have been consistently been getting stuff to me in around 2 weeks or better, for what they list as 'in stock' at least.
But the fact is that AliExpress has a LOT more variety available than anywhere else you can look. They usually have the best prices and good sellers have stock that they send quickly. The big let down is the painfully slow shipping used and there is no decent shipping option available at a reasonable price. I'd love to be able to pay $8 instead of $3 to get my stuff within a couple of weeks, but it is more like $40 (or more) for quick delivery and under $10 for "you'll probably get it eventually" - I'm not that happy to pay over $40 shipping for an item that costs $15. I find that BangGood is the best alternative with good shipping and though generally a bit more expensive they are still reasonably priced - if only I could always get whatever I wanted from them. My "go to" alternative to that alternative would be Amazon.com, which I've found to be better than they used to be at offering delivery to NZ at a reasonable price - still dearer than AliExpress or BangGood and there are plenty of things you can find on AliExpress that Amazon don't have. If I want something quick I'll check BangGood & Amazon and if I can't find it at either store then I will most likely NOT be able to get it quick.
Sometimes I buy from AliExpress instead of NZ despite knowing I'll have to wait for weeks. If it is $150 here and $85 (total including shipping & GST) on AliExpress and if I don't need it quickly - well, maybe I'll save some bucks and wait. More often I buy from AliExpress things that I've never seen in NZ and just can't find elsewhere. I keep thinking "AliExpress is too slow, I'll buy elsewhere" and then I can't find what I want elsewhere or it isn't far off being twice as much money. I spend too much money as it is, I'd go through money too fast if I just paid more on everything to have it straight away.
Everything Ive ordered lately has turned up pretty quickly.. Last order they sent it all in one package even though it was from different sellers. Think I waited around 2-3 weeks tops.
