I didn't say it was accidental. I said Hanlon's razor says this could be stupidity rather than malice. But I found four occurrences of that so it could also be some prank, joke or plain racism being inject by some idiot.

A report to Warehouse was made, and I agree with that.

I received a reply today from their customer service team asking for screenshots which they will refer on to their marketing team and suppliers. It was a correct response and I have sent them such. I will post any subsequent replies here.

Front side grille of car stolen and then noticed punctures on both newish back tyres, one had a nail still in it, the other was slow. Can’t help suspect the punctures were deliberate.

Truly bizarre. Sounds like vandalism not theft yet still bizarre. Based on that I'm thinking you'll find the grill in a nearby bush or similar location within throwing distance.

Eh I hope this is not related to catalytic converter theft. Some Google results say particular models are a favorite:

https://mag.lexus.co.uk/catalytic-converter-theft/

Lexus UK offered free marking. Ebay results even have some antitheft devices. I did not see results for Lexus NZ. Anyway, hope it's not that as well as the rest. In either case it sounds like a group of silly kids after school.

Just receiving a reply from many organisations qualifies as another W T F ! Well done.

Thanks for the info. Geez another thing to worry about. Who knew. Will call Lexus tomorrow and ask if they intend to mark it. I guess the less people know about this sort of thing the better or it will become a trend.

The punctures and theft was on the Aqua.

As it says in the article, cat converter theft isn't new. They come with a battery angle grinder and a jack in the middle of the night.

Marking won't stop the theft. I wouldn't worry about it.

Woke up shortly after 4:30 am, smell of burnt paper and wood in the rooms. No fire alarm triggered, only a flashing warning about VOC pollution on the display (my nose has already noticed this). So it's coming from outside through the open windows. And at that moment I already heard the fire brigade, and saw the blue light of the police on the street, which was cordoned off. Fire in a small office building 60m away! Fortunately, it was over 20 minutes later. Apparently an office room burnt out because of a defective, cheap switching power supply. Five years ago, this happened one street away during an unattended charging of a Li-Ion battery - the whole place burnt out.

Lesson learned for me: link the smart VOC sensor with the internal, acoustic house alarm, test the performance limits of inexpensive devices beforehand and only operate them unattended with a fireproof base for the time being.

Sounds complicated. The lesson I picked up is to do your battery charging at work.

It's not complicated. I was only startled because I didn't know where the smell of smoke was coming from. W.T.F. But the fire had started in the neighbourhood and while they are there, I have now allowed the VOC sensors in Home Assistant to trigger an alarm when their levels rise so quickly (since the fire started outside 60m away, the smoke detectors in my rooms logically have nowhere near any reason to trigger). But the VOC sensors in four rooms did notice something because the windows were open.

Lenovo Australia had a deal going recently where you got 100 points worth $100 by creating a MyRewards account (free). As you could imagine, thousands upon thousands of people joined and took advantage of the deal, including me. And quite a few people have already received their items.

I just got this email from Lenovo Australia (important to note that I had 11 points left on my account):

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your participation in MyLenovo Rewards Program! There has been an overwhelming response and Lenovo had decided to end the program on the 27th of July 2022, which is earlier than expected.

We appreciate your participation and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. In this instance, your reward has not been gifted to you.

Please refer to our terms and conditions to Prices and Offers section 3.3 [Link)].

Thank you,
Lenovo Post Sales Team

Only problem is, they cc'd in 200 or so email accounts which can be seen by everyone that received the email.

From the New York Times coverage of the Alex Jones defamation trial, 05 August:

"[Jones] told this truth only after the plaintiffs’ lawyer revealed that Jones’s lawyer had inadvertently emailed him several hundred gigabytes of Jones’s cellphone records ... "

That's a pretty big mistake - and a remarkable "email" system.  🙃
