then i saw on rottentomatoes.com there is an exact show being produced this time by english speaking people ... ??why!

Batman: Mask of The Phantasm

Out of all the Batman films so far, including all of the live action films & the newest instalments to the franchise - Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, this version is still the only one in my opinion to really explore the character of Bruce Wayne/Batman and it examines what really drove him in to becoming the Dark Knight himself.

Batman: Mask of The Phantasm has a great story that flashes back to the events just leading up before Bruce Wayne took up the mantle of the bat and the woman he was involved with at the time. It then later skips forward to a mysterious assassin that is going around killing Gotham City's mobsters, and we later find out how the two stories relate. The writing is top-notch, and in no-way predictable. The voice acting by Kevin Conroy as the Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker are truly amazing, also not to forget the Phantasm himself are also bone-chillingly scary.

The only complaint from me about Mask of The Phantasm would be that there could possibly have been too many flashbacks for some viewers. There were in some parts of the film, flashbacks in flashbacks which some people may find a little hard to follow. But apart from that this is an excellent film that explores the dark past of the Batman and I would no doubt highly recommend this to anyone that is a fan of the Dark Knight.

Centurion (2010)

A splinter group of Roman soldiers fight for their lives behind enemy lines after their legion is decimated in a devastating guerrilla attack.

Its all about them making it back to there base camp while been hunted down by the Pict tribes. Brilliant. No well known actors - this film is far better than Clash of the titans, and even Gladiator IMHO.

Worst Response To A Crisis:
From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"

Ice Pirates : Classic 80's scifi comedy, finally got to see it all way through - 7/10

beautifully crafted. i can't say anything more than that otherwise it would be a spoiled. make sure phones are off and mind is free, TURN OFF THE LIGHTS and just get into it ... you'd never be the same person after that!

Clash of the Titans (2010)

OK-ish action/fantasy movie I guess. A solid couple of hours escape from reality, but didn't blow me away and the CGI was a bit overdone IMO

Worth a rental but wouldn't buy it myself.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

The Men Who Stare At Goats, with George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey.

The first two thirds were wonderful: nice combination of slapstick and black comedy and more than a splash of surrealism. Then the last third was quite mundane and ordinary. Almost a cop out.

Loved the Jedi references and McGregor's character's ignorance of Jedi.

Overall: disappointed.

Saw Brewster's Millions again. Still as funny as I remembered. Richard Pryor and John Candy classic. 8/10

Saw Hurt Locker as well. Great movie, except it seems to be missing a story line. The good speakers I have at home made it very enjoyable to watch with friends. 8/10

I watched Centurian last night and have to say it was really good. Wouldn't say as good as Gladiator but certainly worth watching. Also like one of the above I too agree that Brewster's Millions is a great movie and definitely rates very high on my favourite comedy list.

Watched Kick Ass on iTunes... While entertaining, I am not sure the IMDB crowd is right in placing it on the Top 250 Movies list. I give it 7.5/10.

Mr Nobody: Not bad to be honest. Not too unique, but a nice story and well put together. 7/10

Paper Man: Well acted for what appears to be a pretty low budget film. Interesting quirks kept me watching. 7/10

The A Team, contemporary re-imagined version of the classic show from my childhood.

It was surprisingly entertaining, and involved a plot far more sophisticated than a whole season of the original A Team. The actors chosen for the parts had some chemistry and really paid homage to the original series. The action and sfx were as good as you get in these big budget blockbusters. Recommended for some cheap, dumb fun. (Way better than Salt imho, because at least with The A Team, you knew what you were getting on the packet and it delivered.)

Watched Freaknomics last night. Interesting, but not sure it lives up to the book. I think we will watch Food, Inc this week.

Watched "Kick Ass" on DVD last week

I enjoyed it but listened to too much hype beforehand and expected more. Taken for what it is, part splatter action spoof with a bit of a social message and you'll enjoy it.
It wasn't too Hollywood formulaic which was good, ie some good guys died, and an 11yo girl decapitating people and swearing enough to make grandma run out of soap!

Just watched "2012" on DVD

- Very Hollywood formulaic which was good :) - ie lots of big, BIG CGI, Where the Good guys (John Cusack and Amanda Peet) survive by just missing that building/ bridge / mountain landing on them, and bad guys are evil but they do good in the end then die which is ok ... cause they were evil and must die somehow. Woody Harrelson made a great semi-cameo as a mad doomsday soothsayer. I enjoy his roles and big action so enjoyed this .
