Ordered 3 items in early July. 2 with Yanwen (goes through Chinapost Shanghai) and one with Chinapost small packet plus.

Chinapost small packet plus is stuck and its day 55 now

I found official china post web site giving more accurate and prompt update - http://yjcx.chinapost.com.cn/qps/english/yjcx

I am not sure whats happened to China post but its not great anymore. Small packet plus takes same amount of days as china post registered.

Only ePacket moves fast.

Also noticed that Cainiao is using different career now. Did anybody here used Cainiao super economy global recently?

A nice guy from Fedex delivered my package yesterday. Very quick overall. The only delay was a hold in Auckland.

Wow, talk about timing, one of the mia parcels just arrived in Auckland. (it says 25, but it only arrived on tracking this morning).

77 days in transit.

Also yeah I realise flight traffic is considerably less than usual, but I was starting to get concerned as everything I had ordered before and after this item had already arrived.

I actually have a different issue, which I'm more inclined to think it is NZ Post's problem rather than China Post and/or AliExpress, seeing this is not the first time it has happenned to me.

Ordered an item from AliExpress on 8th Aug, according to tracking provided the item was dispatched on 9th Aug and got into the country on the 23rd.  It was cleared through customs and entered NZ Post's tracking system, and then had a "In transit to Local Depot" on the 25h.  Finally received note that it is with courier for delivery this morning and finally delivered just after 2pm.

Popped outside, nothing - not on front door and not in letter box.

A check on the tracking number again found that the item was delivered to Hamilton, rather than Auckland!  There is a very similar address in Hamilton - same house number and street name, only the suburb is one word less.  With different postcode of course.

Rang NZ Post, who informed that their GPS track is indeed delivered to Hamilton, and they've insisted it was wrongly addressed - as I have indicated this has happenned a few times before so I'm included to think it was a stuff up at NZ Post.  Anyway was advised the only think I could do is to contact sender and get them to lodge an enquiry...

Have messaged sender, will now wait and see what they say, but I'm not really holding my breath!

I call BS!

I used to live on Carbine Rd in Mt Wellington, now and then I'd get a letter in the mail that was clearly addressed (typed rather than messy handwriting) with an address that was kinda similar but immediately obviously to me - different.  I knew the difference between "Carbine Rd, Mt Wellington, Auckland" and "Carbine Lane, Waiuku" - but clearly the muppets working for NZ Post did not!  I would see "Carbine Lane, Waiuku" and think "how dumb would someone have to be to think that it should be delivered to anywhere but Waiuku?  I looked it up in Google maps and there was definitely a Carbine Lane in Waiuku and I thought "why wouldn't they deliver it there".

I'll put $1000 on the package being correctly addressed but NZ Post delivered it to the wrong place.  I just don't believe that a seller would put a different address on the package to the one provided by the customer.  There are some sorts of mistakes I'll believe a Chinese seller might make and there are some sorts of mistakes I'll believe NZ Post might make - this is definitely the sort of thing I'd believe NZ Post might stuff up.

I totally aqgree with your sentiment @MarkH67.  I too believe there is no way the package was addressed wrongly, it would have been the mistake on the part of NZ Post’s sorting system.  NZ Post even have the cheek to insist if the package is indeed addressed to Auckland then there is NO WAY they’d send it to Hamilton, yet this has actually happened to me in the past but at the time NZ Post actually send their courier/postie back to retrieve the item.  They just refused to do so in this case.

In any case I have contacted the seller and see if they have a copy of the address label the put on the package.  Will be interesting to see what they come back with, if they do reply…

But yes, agree overall this is the sort of mistakes that NZ Post is so very capable of making!

Same here, ordered something on the 21st and it arrived into NZ yesterday, the same supplier took over 90 days last time.

I also ordered something from Amazon a few minutes later, it's also in NZ, it will be interesting to see who wins the race :)

Posted here because it's the place mostly likely to be read by people buying overseas: Friend of mine who makes larger purchases overseas has been checking the exchange rates offered by both Amazon and Paypal, you need to do this with larger quantities so you're not just seeing exchange rate fluctuations over the purchase vs. clearance interval or similar, and he's found that both Amazon and Paypal's auto-exchange rates are much, much worse than the default card vendor exchange rates.

So when they offer to do the currency conversion for you, opt out.

Yep, I've experienced the same ^

Also, if you want to maximize low fees, you can could use a site like transferwise, who usually has very good rates and fees on converting from NZD to USD. Better then NZ CC's in my experience.

But if you're like me, it may still be worth paying by NZ CC (depending on amount), just to get that sweet sweet bonus points or whatever your card offers.

You might still get it on that date :(

I ordered something 19th Aug, picked up that day China Post Registered Airmail, and apparently it arrived in Auckland on the 24th, yet to clear customs. And it's still there. :(
