We have just watched two YouTube videos of young North Americans travelling the South Island. The two from the US were amazed about how clean and tidy the country was. They commented on the great facilities for campers and that if anyone was coming down to NZ to do a similar trip to know and obey the rules as they felt it was a privilege to be here.
The Canadian couple raved about the scenery, the facilities, the activities but the thing that stood out was how friendly and helpful every Kiwi that they met was. They too mentioned that folk need to do the right thing when freedom camping. It was so nice to hear we are still the friendly country that we think we are.
