Hmm, my McD's has had it for years. Is it down to the individual place?

i have noticed that a lot of places that used to have paywave  dont anymore , i noticed because my cards are at the end of their life and now i have to do the insert and swipe action to get them to work, they were fine on paywave.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Lime Scooter users who ride on the road weaving between moving lanes of cars, and those that yell at pedestrians to "Get out of my way!" while on the footpath. It's becoming a bit more common unfortunately.

Politicians doing a standup, who apparently are too afraid/embarrassed to be able to do this on their own and can only manage it with a bunch of their colleagues clustered in the background, smiling inanely and nodding in (not well synchronized) time.

They don't do this spontaneously, it's a "power move" that's supposed to help assert authority.  There are personal coaches charging a fortune to train politicians (and others) these techniques.  What annoys me most is that it's patently absurd fake quackery to me - but it clearly works with their intended audience, else they wouldn't bother.  People are very dumb - don't overestimate them - politicians don't.

All I can say then is that you and I are obviously at the other end of the "dumbness scale" 😀

I thought it was the background nodders sneakily getting a bit more air-time, face recognition, appearance of connection to the authoritative interviewee, etc.

I imagine that, just before (and perhaps during) the interview, there's a whole lot of subtle elbowing and shoving to get into the picture.

This Live Chat with Oakley in the USA:

I apologize but we currently do not have replacement lenses available for the Double Edge because they are so new. What I would recommend is contacting our warranty department to see if they have them available there since we do not have them on our website.

11:44:03 a.m.
How would I do that?

11:44:43 a.m.
To contact our warranty department you would fill out the form listed here: digitalwarranty.luxottica.com/

11:45:09 a.m.
OK. Just to be clear though, I am not trying to get them fixed under warranty.

11:45:53 a.m.
Correct, so when you fill out the form, you would specify that you need the lenses replaced and the lenses are not available on the website.

11:47:28 a.m.
OK I will do that now. Just out of interest, did you know that the website lists 19 different replacement Double Edge lenses and allows me to put them in my cart?

11:48:18 a.m.
https://www.oakley.com/en-us/product/W0OO9380R?variant=888392322722

11:48:28 a.m.
Okay, I apologize if they are on the website then you should be able to place an order for them.

(Turns out you can't as they do not ship outside the US...!)

You are lucky he/she didn't go. "I am happy I was able to fix that for you, is there anything else I can do for you today Sir"? :D
