Calling a short video loop a 'live photo' and pretending it's something new.
Mike
Having to chase up tradies and other people in the building industry & related services.
We're currently having our house re-clad, and I'm constantly amazed by the lack of communication when dealing with tradesmen, and suppliers of goods/services related to this job. This is particularly confusing when this is with a supplier who we intend to spend many thousands of dollars with.

Yep, Nokia Living Image anyone?
Or Apple's one, which came after but is an "innovation" (for that matter whatever they do, always late, always "innovative")

I'd have to agree. I am constantly amazed at the poor customer service this area of NZ delivers when compared to the vast sums they demand for doing anything (usually very slowly and often incorrectly).
Our neighbour erected a new winery that cost over $275,000 to build and I actually thought he would end up either having a heart attack or committing murder he had so many issues. As he said, you would think they just don't need the money.
Another one in a similar vein that I have come across twice is franchised operations (one for windows and one for garages) where, when the job goes to hell in a handcart, the main company simply washes their hands of it and says "nothing to do with us - they are franchises" which seems somehow very wrong: trade on our name, but with no back up at all...
Another case where someone had window issues and the franchise had been sold since the instal - new franchisee just said "not my problem - wasn't my business" despite it being the same business with the same well known brand on it...

It is a matter of education -- we are trying to get kids to learn to use ipads yet not teaching them the basics of how companies operate.
Agree on the trades. Try asking for quotes and only 1 out of say 3 or 4 companies even turns up to look at the job.
The fact that ASB have two ways of paying money in their internet banking - 'Bill Payments' and "One Off Payments" and you cannot access the same payee details under each heading, they are maintained as two entirely separate lists! Yet they charge you $2 to load each one...

Wait, what?! ![]()
My only experience has been with Westpac, which as far as I know has never charged a fee to set up a payee.

I never paid bank charges in my life until moving to NZ - personal banking was always free in the UK.
However to be fair, I note that ASB no longer charge for setting up the payments on line, but they certainly used to. We used to get a warning every time we went to set up a new one.
Got to fund that rugger team somehow....

When the office cleaners jam the paper towels so tightly in the dispenser that you can't get one out.
Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

They scrapped the $2 fee quite a long time ago -- that used to irritate me too.
The thing that bugs me about payments to preset payees is that it does not show you the destination account number when you make the payment. I always like to double check the destination account matches the invoice remittance advice. Can't do it with ASB. You need to open the payee details and check the account before making the payment.
Also, user pay fees is better than the way the UK banking works. You realise you do pay the fees in the UK, but just in other ways.
Cars that park in the wrong direction. It is a bit confusing.
In the last year, it seems to be happening more and more. I spotted a vacant parallel park on my side in the busy main street and a car coming the other direction crossed the road and parked facing the wrong direction. Never expected that . Sucked too as otherwise I would have signalled earlier to reserve the park.
But, on my street there are now 3 or 4 cars who regularly park in the wrong direction now.
And, some turkey is also parking a truck on our street too... it is huge, blocks road views, and narrows the available road space.
Have never paid a fee with TSB.
tra la la la laa with TSB.

They can and should be ticketed for parking in the wrong direction. Karma (or the council parking warden) will get them.
KFC annoys me for charging $1 to swap a side out in their bucket meals.
