We've been watching Shameless on Netflix this last week or two. It's a British comedy/drama/kind of thing about a family in Manchester with a runaway mum and alcoholic father.

It's actually pretty funny and the wife loves it so I can recommend it.

Can you only recommend things that she loves, then? surprised

Haha, not at all, but you can't tell me the wive/gf's love all the geeky/sci-fi stuff posted in this thread ;)

Tried Dirk Gently but as clever as it is, a bit annoying. So skipped it.

I just binge watched a show called Goliath...

Great show with Billy Bob Thornton and William Hurt.

try and find the 2010 one , only 4 episodes and Howard Overman [Misfits] created and wrote 2 of them , Matt Jones [Dr Who] wrote 1 and worth a watch.

I have not skipped it yet but after 2 episodes I am wondering when an FBI agent will start commenting on how good the pie is and when random shots of a dancing dwarf will appear...!

I turned it off because it had a solid 5 minute commercial for Cadbury hidden in the show. Who cares about flakes.
Enough cheese.
You all know what im referring to.

TGT, The car segments are still good - mostly - but some of the in-tent stuff is a bit naff...  Clarkson and May in particular are really starting to look and act like old Granddads...  Cant stand The American...  Still I'm sure Amazon is happy?  will watch the rest of the season but not sure after that... 6/10

The OA,  Both the girlfriend and me were glued to this to the end,  Like Stranger things - I wouldnt call it a TV series, more like an 8 hour movie but good watching...  8/10

Some more from 2016:

The Librarians - love this one, cool characters and an easy-going mix of Sci-fi and comedy thou sometimes the acting is a bit terrible.

Timeless - another easy going Sci-Fi, Obviously influenced by Quantum leap but with its own spin and intrigue.

Travellers - started out ok, but it does lack a bit of on-going storyline...

Dark Matter - Only a few episodes into this but liking it so far...

Humans - thought provoking indeed!

Upstart Crow - William Shakespeare portrayed by the creators of Black Adder, very funny

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

Did The OA have a resolution? Something satisfying, even if there is a hook to a next season? I am asking because I am tired of watching TV series that start, get twists and turns, and the season ends with no resolution in sight. Not satisfying. Stranger Things was good - even though there's all ready for a next season, it was a good closure at Season 1.
