When I was a kid, my Dad talked about going to the quack to get sorted. So I just went DrQuack because it literally meant Dr Dr and I found that funny (as things do in your own head) I also picked 32 cause that was the number Magic Johnson wore. I needed one and I figured most forums were going to need a number so picked that one.

ME? Well I was a CAD Tech that worked on 3d Studio Max a lot... that was back in the day when Max had just come out.... good old autodesk.

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

Sittingduckz comes from an online fighter jet game I played years ago. I was originally called 'Dead Meat' from the Hot Shots movie but some other little b!#@# started using it so I changed to Sittingduckz as I sucked at the game and got shot down every 10ms. tongue-out

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

I've been Elpie for over twenty years. It has a double meaning - my initials are LP, and ie for Ireland. I answer to Elpie, Elp and Elps, but don't often get called by my legal name. I've got a couple of other names floating around from the dim dark ages but rarely use them now.

I don't think I can point to a specific origin.

I have a vague recollection of some cartoon or tv program where the ending 'tastic' was added to many things - maybe I had been watching it?!

Most people that know me, know me as Rhodar (from the books by David Eddings) and that was the name I used in he days of Bulletin Boards, but when I made my first character in Everquest back in '99 it was already taken. I started thinking Hitchhikers Guide and as I didn't have a copy handy thought Vroomfondel was spelled Brumfondl (I pronounce it Broom fondle). I have stuck with it in games and as my Internet persona because it is unique to me.

I lurk... Found out about the term during my early days on the net, in the Babylon 5 usenet groups.
My avatar is from an old Infocom game, The Lurking Horror. Usually the handle is taken though, not very unique I guess.
I have a few others up my sleeve.

Mine was originally from a personalised plate I got for my 21st.
See ya bro!
I still have the plates but not on anything at the moment.

Since you were being nosy, I wanted to replace a much older nym from Usenet days and at the time I looked after the glassware for a beer tasting group.  Glassboy seemed to reflect the hollowness of an Internet identity.

My first name is Mick and I had a bit of a tan and a mate called me "Mika Blakamin" afte Mika Hakkinen, because of the way I drove (but I never won any titles).
I used the blakamin bit for my first email address and now if I put "blakamin" into any website and it says "username is taken" I know I've been there before :D

Stuck with it.
