So where did everybody get their nicknames from , was it something sitting in front of you when you came up with it ??.

How many iterations of it has there been.

Mine is actually from a car I had at the time a Mazda eunos presso. I used to go by Ice2003 back in my day of irc.

Its a funny old world and how people come up with their names.

Most places now I am Mspec which is based on my model of car.

Mine comes from my mainframe days. The login standard for this company was FullLastNameFirstNameInitial - freitasm it was.

Nothing fancy, but going on 25 years...

I use raytaylor because i am dyslexic and find it really hard to associate screennames with actual names, let alone remember someones actual name.
Also when I am interacting with others in the IT community at my day job, they realise who I am because they have seen my name on GZ and instantly respect me as a well known person in the industry.

I'm afraid that there isn't much of a story behind mine; when I made a WoW character back in 2007 I couldn't think of a good name so I just kept hitting Randomise until I got one that I liked. It stuck.

Edit: And my friends started dropping the H, so it's typically pronounced "be-o-dar".

My PhD thesis topic was cheese about 20 years ago. Still working in the dairy industry. Funnily enough, a lot of people still call me Dr Cheese at scientific conferences. They've probably forgotten my real name.

My first email name which was on dialup using CC Mail to a US supplier using their mail server. We were told to make it something that identifies with the country we were from and our initials.

Back in intermediate school about 10 years ago, me and a bunch of mates were making our myspace or Bebo accounts at the time and couldn't think of usernames. So we made them for each other. I got given tardtasticx because I think tardtastic was taken. The added x was cool.

So when I needed a username for something I used that, and now I'm too far in to be bothered changing it haha

Mine was based on the ol' Phantom Menace.... Butt Phantom was taken when I reg'd with blizzard and I hate the randomness of numbers on the end so I tacked on my 'geeky' version of my initials (NVD, en-vee-d= envied)

Silly now but as above... to far in to care :)

My surname is Hand. Handle is pretty obvious from there and my number when I played softball was 9.

Sure do 😊 But it's a secret. You have to be part of the cheese mafia to know my real name.
