I watched Quantum of Solace on Thursday night, thanks to work, and it was great. Would recommend watching Casino Royale beforehand though as it follows on closely from that and some of the folks I was with didn't understand some of the references to the other movie.

I think the 'Bond Girls' in this one are better to :oP

Watched the opening screening of Quantum of Solace (thanks to 920) last Thursday, a week before it starts here in NZ.

PS. And now I think we know where Brentbart works. Unless it was a shared event...

I watched an outstanding documentary last night called Young@Heart

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1047007/

It was so cool - all about these elderly folk, mostly between 70-95 years old, who are part of a choir called Young@Heart.  The documentary follows their rehersals leading up to the start of a new tour called Alive and Well.  It's really touching and inspirational.  They're not your typical choir in that they sing contemporary rock/pop and classic rock/pop songs!  So it's really funny and odd to see an octogenarian singing Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, or Fix You by Coldplay - but its so cool to see!  I have to recommend this movie for EVERYONE - I don't think anyone could watch this and not enjoy it or be moved by it in one way or another!  Case in point: they play a short concert for a bunch of inmates in a local prison - seeing the looks on the inmate's faces is just priceless because these old folks just turn these hard guys into mush!

See it!

Ha, saw a review of this film that said they'd never enjoyed Coldplay till this version of one of their songs!

Zack and Miri Make a Porno:  OMG this is so funny!  this is Kevin Smith going back to basics and producing a really genuine and funny film.  Very distasteful in scenes, sometimes offensive, but always funny and engaging.  I'd recommend this if you're a fan of the traditional sex/fart-joke type of movie.  Not for everyone, but worth a watch nonetheless.

I was going to watch Zach and Miri last night, but the other half was throwen by the title and do you think i could convince her to watch it! So instead we watched Pineapple Express, Another seth rogan movie, very funny and quite distatesful (as all seth rogen films are, he is becoming my favourite comedian actually). Will be trying Zach and Miri again tonight, failing that ill watch it by myself!

Burn After Reading - The latest Coen brothers. It's really funny and reminded me much more of of Fargo and Raising Arizona than their last movie, No Country For Old Men which was a very serious Western. Brad Pitt is hilarious.

I've watched Hellboy II: The Golden Army - surprisingly good. And just finished watching Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day - very good.

Watched American Gangster last night - it was looooooong!!!! Good though - recommended for those who like epics.
Night before watched Dark Knight. Not as blown away as I was expecting - still a good watch though.

An update...

Batman The Dark Knight was good. But I liked Batman Begins better.

The X Files... What a load of... I just watched Fight The Future on DVD again last night, and it was much better. This is from someone who watched The X Files from Season 1 on TV and have all the DVDs.

Agree with you regarding X-Files - WTF? There was nothing "X" about it, just a pretty lame psycho crime "thriller".

Ive watched way too many movies!
But recently, saw 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' which was a remake from an old 1950's film.
Nicely redone, good ethics, wondering if Al Gore was involved or partook in the reinvention of this movie.

Special effects were upto todays standards, story line was easy to follow, Will Smiths kid played supporting role as anoying brat kid who defies everything.
Packed with American military stupidity & were all that mentallity.

Gives a good message about how were still stuffing up the planet.

Would reccomend seeing it at the movies, just for sheer scale of events, but would also make a perfectly great @ home movie.
