Like everything, according to my friend John, it's better in VR:

I was surprised the type of things I saw in the open at the markets in Berlin. I am reasonably open-minded, but I think I would have been uncomfortable with my kids being there, though some of it was pretty obscure they probably wouldn't have noticed!

Years ago I was at a friend's place when another friend with two small girls dropped by. The first friend had a pretty risque screen saver on his computer. When it suddenly popped up I pointed it out to the second friend and asked if her girls ought to see something like that. She just said it would make them laugh. She was right. Children are wonderfully un-hung up about this kind of thing.

I suspect it would vary child to child.

Isn't the non-technical term for that is 'blow-up doll' or for those that are lucky a 'partner' 😊?

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

The first time I ever saw it was in the early 1970s, in primary school aged about seven. The church Minister's daughter brought daddy's stash (magazines) to school. We thought the material was funny at the time. To this day, I still find the fact that it was the vicar's collection filched by his daughter amusing.

Saw it a few times as a teenager back in the early-80s VHS days. Moderately interesting the first time, but gave up on it quite quickly. Essentially it was just plain boring after a few times - the only thing it left to the imagination was the plot.

I will probably have to worry about it for my own kids in a few years, but at the moment they are a bit young. I'm pretty relaxed however. I'm not interested in getting into a blocker/unblocker arms race with kids who will eventually be much more savvy than me anyway. I know they will eventually see it. Providing it's not too extreme then I'm not too worried about it, and just want to make sure they are comfortable talking about it when the time comes. Fortunately my wife essentially feels the same. It's no big deal.
