Geektastic:
For a country that thinks it is a liberal paradise, NZ sure does like banning things...
Who said its a liberal paradise. We could all rock up to your boundary and set them off, but dint complain when your barn burns down, its an "accident"
tdgeek:
If setting low quality unreliable firearms off with kids nearby or actually doing it, burning property, injuring people, is all ok, then lets continue.
Do you actually think fireworks are the same as firearms or is that a typo?
SirHumphreyAppleby:gzt:MikeB4: I would like to see the sale to the public stopped and if we are going to have public displays these moved to a time more relevant to New Zealand/Aotearoa Such as Matariki.
Matariki for me is a time of contemplation. Ending it with fireworks doesn't seem quite right to me. I am no expert in these matters. The anniversary of the Gunpower Plot is exactly the right time to be celebrating with fireworks.
I don't care what the naysayers believe, it's part of my culture and worthy of preservation.
