Mainly here for the badge, a NAS would be sweet too 😁

You can never have too many badges.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

You read the topic and realise you have extra steps to get in the NAS giveaway, right?

In the early 2000's I couldn't afford a NAS so I bought a USB case and popped a drive in it for backups. Of course the fins on the case got covered with papers etc and the drive eventually died . I learnt my lesson and started backing up to the cloud, but it was such a pain on rural dial-up with 28kb/s on a good day. I have moved several times since then, including briefly (4 years) to Auckland, enjoying unlimited fibre there. I am now rural again and have plunged into Elon's Starlink, with cloud backup an easy solution. But I have been worrying about the mishaps at data centres PLUS entrusting someone else with my data. I don't have anything to hide but I do like to be in total control here (BITCH)
I love badges too.
They make good NASeseses ... though could do with 2.5gbe/5gbe ports instead of 1gbe especially to make use of any NVMe you might add.
Been a Synology user for some years now, following the demise of Windows Home Server. Particularly liked the DSM 6 Photo Station app for backing up family photos from various sources and rather disappointed in what the Synology DSM 7 replacement Photos app actually delivered, I hope they can reintroduce some of the missing functionality.
Thanks for cap (maybe) 😀
In the video at 46:00 the stylised map has not got NZ on it :(
