bazzer: I meant of the Nestle? White "Chocolate". I think Dream has 20% (+ vegetable fat), Milkybar doesn't advertise the proportion, so guess less than 20% even. Whittakers has 28% cocoa butter and no vegetable fat!

I'm not sure what % it is... will let you know when I buy some more to take home.

It is far differing to Milky Bar however - that is full of vegetable fat. There are actually some EU standards regarding minimum contents for "chocolate", I'm sure somebody's probably mentioned this already.

Cadbury chocolate is a mass market product that is cheap to make. You can't crisitise them for that - it's a bit like comparing Lion Red to Epic Beer.. There will always be people who like Lion Red.

They had a "blind test" on the radio this morning. Old cadbury dairy milk, new cadbury dairy milk and whittakers.

I think all of them chose new cadbury as their favourite thinking it was either old cadbury or whittakers!

Im boycotting cadbury altogether if they are using palm oil. if youre not aware of the destruction caused by the palm plantations to natural forests and their inhabitants, you should read up on it. Disgusting

Not only is it unethical, it just tastes bad. Bad enough to be noticed without having someone point it out to me.

After reading this topic a few days ago, I went and bought some whittakers milk chocolate for the first time, and I hate to say it but it just didnt do it for me, it seemed a little over rich for me I guess would be the only way to describe it. Any of their other blocks any good? (not a fan of dark)

I'm happy with their (Whittakers) Caramellow and Fruit & Nut blocks.

But then, that's just me.

Personally, I found that the Wittakers Caramellow block tastes more natural (or even a bit bitter) when compared to Cadbury's.

Which is the way I like it.

To me, it wasn't as rich.

Did you just try the plain chocolate one?

yeah was just the plain choclate one, and that is a good way to describe it a little more bitter and sharp to what I like (or am possibly conditioned to like haha)

Haha, yeah, I think Cadbury have brainwashed you!

Again, it's all down to personal taste/preference though.

For me, Whittakers will always win hands down (assuming they don't do a Cadbury).

Do you guys eat in rows? I eat in individual blocks. Makes it look like I have more chocolate than I actually do.
