About a month ago I mentioned to someone how Stuff was the Fairfax online property. He was surprised, as he didn't know it. For years this person though "Stuff" was a blogger that copied articles from the DomPost.

Absolutely crap brand.

Slightly off topic (sorry):

I'll never forget the time I was at the local SPCA cleaning out cat litter trays. The guy I was working with that day is a Trump supporter. He was going on about Herr Trump as I was about to empty a used litter tray into the bin. As a matter of perfect timing, Trump's face was on the newspaper in the litter tray. I showed this to the guy and said "look, Trump does actually have a use!"

Wife bought low or no salt peanut butter, its rubbish. Bland as. I cant even double the serving as I just get twice as much bland

What if you just sprinkle a little salt on it?

Hmm, didnt think of that, but I doubt it would help much unless I mixed it in

It'll mix in your mouth when you chew!

Sadly, everyone believes their opinion matters. It's upsetting when reality intrudes and they find out nobody cares.

Yesterday Stuff had a story about a 30 year old charged with a Dunedin teen's murder. The story was posted in the morning, with a photo of the accused, his name and biography. How he moved from Auckland, is a doctor with such and such places, etc and how he was supposed to appear in court in the afternoon.

Come afternoon the court gives him name suppression and the site now shows a completely different story. Too fast sometimes means too much.

It's not headlines - but the number of stories where somebody has done something completely stupid / foreseeable / asinine etc and then is crying all over the front page about it

e.g. Example: Lady who got 3-4 speeding tickets near a wellington tunnel on the same day, moaning she wasn't warned.

or today - a builder upset that his houses arent allowed on a subdivision as they break the covenants. Duh!!!

https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/property/100967443/little-hope-for-builder-as-readymade-homes-ruled-out-by-subdivision-covenants

Some people have no shame - seem to delight in exposing their stupidity for ridicule.

I noticed that too! Shouldn't be hard to find an archived copy of the older story with his details if you were so inclined.

If thats a "bloodbath" how are they going to describe holders of Bitcoin. $20,000 at beginning of teh year, now at $6,300.

I am now waiting for all the headlines "This man sold his house for bitcoin and now lives on the streets" or "I sold everything for Bitcoin and now have nothing." or "Climate Change Cancelled as Crypto Currency Miners Call It Quit"

I got bored so looked  it up. Ridiculously easy to find and he has been in the news before. Which again makes one wonder what the point of name suppression is at all. I think the law is still way behind on this one.

A linked story popped up on my Facebook feed ages about some old fella in Auckland who was complaining about getting 3 or 4 speeding tickets within the space of a month. I generally steer clear of rubbish like this but decided to skim through it then chuck a comment on the story. Can't remember exactly what it was but wrote something like "Why is this retard getting any print space?". Some of his family members (one in particular) took a bit of umbrage to this and tried telling me he was telling a life story people were interested in. No no, I assured them, it's just someone who's been pinged for being an idiot and has stupidly gone public about - absolutely no interesting life story here...
