Geektastic: "It is an actual bloodbath," Charles Schwab market analyst Ben Le Brun told AAP."
NO IT ISN'T!
Bloodbaths are what Chuck Norris has instead of showers!
Rikkitic:freitasm:Yesterday Stuff had a story about a 30 year old charged with a Dunedin teen's murder. The story was posted in the morning, with a photo of the accused, his name and biography. How he moved from Auckland, is a doctor with such and such places, etc and how he was supposed to appear in court in the afternoon.
Come afternoon the court gives him name suppression and the site now shows a completely different story. Too fast sometimes means too much.
I got bored so looked it up. Ridiculously easy to find and he has been in the news before. Which again makes one wonder what the point of name suppression is at all. I think the law is still way behind on this one.

The right way to wash your hands
Seriously? What's going to be next? "How to wipe your bottom correctly?"

Based on the number of people I see leaving the bathrooms in bars, airports and offices without washing their hands...

Is it time to tunnel across the Cook Straight?
No.
You could re-write it
"Is it time to continue doing nothing to improve our inter-island links?"
No

I saw a leaflet in the doctors for some illness I'd never heard of that apparently affects small children. The symptoms were given as follows
1) Diarrhoea (runny poos)
2) Vomiting (being sick)
I rolled my eyes at the thought that anyone who needed those words explained to them in vernacular terms was considered suitable to be a responsible parent, to be honest.

you worry until you read the article and find that the cyclone hasnt even formed yet and there is no way to know where it may end up if it did exist.
Common sense is not as common as you think.

It's better to just avoid the herald altogether these days. ![]()

no problems with the article itself, right up until the summary of David Jones -
David Jones:
• Leading Australian department store founded in 1838 in Sydney.
• Operates 35 stores and 2 warehouse outlets across Australia. (can you double check this?)
• Stocks over 1700 brands including its own David Jones line.
• The Wellington store was its first overseas outlet.
Leaving in the note about "can you double check this" is a nice touch, perhaps news articles are now meant to be interactive?
Basically setting out to do what Tivo did about 8 years ago.
Unfortunately we know how that ended.

Someone has built a chrome extension to label all the syndicated click bait stories they grab from the Mirror/news.com.au etc and attempt to pass as local content
