Westpac also offers plain eftpos cards; I got one when my Mastercard chip failed. While I personally prefer Paywave, I tend to use the eftpos card when the retailer doesn't support Paywave: It processes much faster than using the chip.

I'd rather just have an implanted chip in my wrist to be honest.

I think PayWave is limited to $80 so I don’t think you will have too many opportunities to get rich before you’re caught.

Countdown self checkout fails if you scan your onecard barcode.
They look at you like you are stupid, when really it's their system and UI.  The message is present your card, but if you scan it rather than swipe it, the system doesn't recognise the barcode.

I remember I was at New World once and I went to pull my card out of my wallet. My Subway card fell out and landed on the scanner. Chaos ensued.

Jerks who drive into a dead-end street which has 4! traffic sign announcement and barreers but have to drive to the end to be finally convinced of.

Know about 5 US$ kills.

Even better, the staff discount code for Woolworths employee is a scan card but the One Card is a swipe-only job. If you're buying something using a staff discount card then you have to use two completely different motions.

So, my ISP is apparently suffering a major outage. I suspect "major" because their phone line is down too!

Looks like a different issue. Mine didn't go down until about 6:10 PM and even then my router could still pick up its IP address, so it looks like the issue was upstream of my ISP.
