On behalf of my wife - the Police for not preventing 'protestors' from stopping people going about their lawful business.
I bet they made you aware of what they were protesting about, though, so they served their purpose.

Not all that small, but it really, really irritates me: I have bought an assortment of Chinese stuff on Aliexpress over the years. It is sometimes quirky, not always exactly as advertised, and quality varies, but it is cheap and most of it is of an acceptable standard.
Until now. I made a HUGE mistake and bought dozens and dozens and dozens of LED light bulbs, both Edison and Bayonet fittings, from different suppliers. I replaced every bulb in our large farmhouse and altogether probably bought around 80 or more.
They are absolute crap. All of them. Several failed immediately, More and more have been failing after days or weeks. Nearly every day another one dies. They are complete and utter rubbish, every damned one of them. China is know for its crap but this is a whole new order of magnitude. Sometimes some Chinese stuff is okay, especially for the price, but don't go near the LED bulbs. They are complete and total sh!t. I don't have a problem with a few failures out of a large batch, especially at bargain prices, but not like this. You get what you pay for but here you don't even get that. I doubt I will buy Chinese again. This experience has really done me in.

I was aware before they turned up. Every hour my wife was delayed costs her well over $100+ GST.

I agree, I agree with their cause and I support their right to lawful protest. I do not support them stopping people going about their business. My wife was also prevented in getting to a crucial meeting concern very large business opportunity.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

With what they cost locally, im not sure that I would bother bringing them in from China myself now. Was $4 for 2 at bunnings, and some others were a pack of 6 for $10 or so. Absurdly cheap IMO.
The local price has gone down. It was much higher when I bought them.

and the irony is that most of brand name bulbs, eg Phillips, are made in China.
Common sense is not as common as you think.

Primarily because she will probably be dead also.
That is not really the point. People have a right to protest, peacefully, without interfering with others. Not a licence to behave like a bunch of hooligans preventing others from going to work or whatever they need to do.

When the planet is dead you won't care that you bought cheap LED lights made in Chinese factories supplied energy from coal fired power plants and transported quarter of the way round the world in fossil fueled ships (or aircraft) and made with the cheapest components and put together by child labour.
Good points. We don't always think about the big picture. But how is a hapless consumer to know all these things when buying a simple lightbulb?

Agree. There are always individuals who go too far. That does not mean the protest is not justified, or does not have a valid point to make.
