Finally getting up out of the dentist's chair at 7:45pm after first laying back in it at just after 5 for what was meant to be a routine extraction.  My head hurts, my jaw hurts and the tooth that isn't even there anymore hurts.

And then the agony in your bank account starts...

This did cross my mind several times as I was lying there and the hours ticked by. I was actually pleasantly surprised, I got charged $350.  Not sure they made any money on this gig given it was the dentist and his assistance working on me for a good part of 3 hours..   The receptionist was also still there when I left at 20:00.

I think I need the name of your dentist, though given how much pain you are in, perhaps they decided to cut costs by removing anaesthetics :) ? :(

Spotify!

What did you do to my made for you daily playlists.

They were all nicely curated based on the genre's I listen to most

Playlist 1:  Australasian indie artists

Playlist 2:  International indie artists

Playlist 3:  Heavy guitar blues

Playlist 4:  Alternative pop

Playlist 5:  Acoustic folk

Wake up this morning and on the drive to work they're all mixed up like jumbled mess. Absolutely no sense to them now.

Why?

For committing an offence against good taste? 🤣

WTH is "alternative pop"?

It's either pop or it isn't.

Can't see a place for GG Allin in those playlists - it'd  be a hell of a shame to arrive at work feeling unrealistically positive about your day.

The heinous odour combination one has to suffer when getting in a lift with a woman (usually in her 30s or 40s but I don't want to come across as ageist) who is wearing too much perfume and has just been on a cigarette break.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Pretty sure "Bite it you scum" is a good alternative to pop...

Or a bloke who has just had a coffee on his cigarette break.

I think that can be summarised easily as:

Being in an enclosed space with anyone that has an excessive odour, be it from smoke, perfume, bad breath, body odour etc.  Or any combo.

I had a Latin teacher at prep school who smoked a pipe and had a tiny office.

If we had to go and see him there it was almost impossible to see him through the clouds of Gold Block smoke!

At least pipe tobacco smells nice.

There was an English teacher at my high school who allegedly had TB and chain-smoked cigarettes in class.  A walking corpse constantly wheezing and coughing into a grubby handkerchief, we'd open all the classroom windows even in midwinter - probably didn't help with his TB if that's actually what he had.  Even back then there was probably a rule about teachers not being allowed to smoke in class, but this fellow was clearly very unwell, most of the teachers smoked pipes or cigarettes, the teacher in question had been long-serving (though probably with a very short future career) and fought in WW2, so they turned a blind eye to it.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/116588136/final-curtain-falls-as-last-stand-topples-at-christchurchs-lancaster-park

Eq's happened here in 2010 and 2011 9 and 8.5 years ago.

Today the last bits of Lancaster Park/AMI Stadium were demolished. Weirder is "war memorial gates remain standing, protected for the future and destined to be incorporated into a multimillion-dollar redevelopment that will provide a space for community sport. That vision remains years away due to budget restraints

So, after 9 years, we are maybe looking at another 9??? number of years to rebuild? While I dont advocate rebuilding in a frantic rush, we need to get Japan or California to take over our rebuild.

Not having any speakers in the house other than the ones on the TV itself, I suppose it makes little difference to me probably!

Yes, I had several Masters who fought in that war, including a retired RN sub Captain who used to regale us with tales of derring-do on winter nights before bed sometimes.

Thinking back, there were 4 pipe smokers in the SCR. Our Headmaster was often to be spotted on the prowl for miscreant boys with his Straight Rhodesian clamped firmly between his teeth.
