Fluffy marketing words companies use that don't make sense :

"disaggregated hyperconverged infrastructure"

So infrastructure that you bring together and separate into its component parts ?

The increasing cost of car insurance.... anyone else noticed an unusually large increase in premiums this year?

Due to the 'increasing cost of parts for repair' according to the companies....

mdapjas:

Almost forgot - delivery guys leaving failed delivery notice in our mail box without actually trying to make that delivery (it is a long-ish driveway but still)

All the time. No excuse here. When they do hang around to deliver it, they see a sign called DOORBELL. They press that so I walk to the door while they start knocking on the door non stop

Haven't noticed, though I'm sensing a new windscreen on the horizon, so hopefully I won't be finding out.

Some new cars with all the needless auto crap attached to the windscreen are virtually a writeoff when the screen gets damaged with all the other labour to sort out the sensors etc.

Why is it always the same car that gets the windscreen damaged despite driving it less than the other car I own...

I'm replacing my ford focus windscreen for the 3rd time in 8 years. Veritable stone magnet

It is getting a bit ridiculous with all the add-ons nowadays. I did see somewhere a while back about some insurance companies adding an excess for more modern cars because of this.

Mind you, am exaggerating somewhat (I hope) for our car, it being a 10 year old Honda Odyssey...

They seem to be adding the glass excess on to *all* cars to cover the 3 cars in the country with the $10k windscreens.

That now makes it pointless for me to make a glass claim given the excess is higher than the cost of a new windscreen.

I don't think any car has a $10,000 windscreen, unless us Kiwis are getting royally screwed by importers. A Tesla Model X panoramic windshield and a vintage Astin Martin windshield are still below $5,000 I think.

I just tried to log into an account that I haven't used in a few years. I enter my username and password, and it tells me that since it's been so long, as a precaution I need to reset my password and a reset email has been sent to... my old email address. There is no option to change this address. Security is one thing, but if someone knows their username and password on their first attempt, and is coming from the same IP address, then chances are it's the same person!

I have a coworker who's extremely social, young and hip mother of two. She's often involved in large outside-work gatherings, of both adults and children.

She's also a modern-day typhoid Mary

She just coughed non-stop at her desk, without covering her mouth, walked across the office full of hundreds of people, still coughing with her mouth uncovered, went into the kitchen, again not covering her mouth.

I can only hope I've already had what she's got.

Should you not mention your concerns to her? It is possible to do that without being offensive.

The HR department has already sent out emails saying "if you're sick stay home."

Also the bosses have repeated the same thing in team meetings multiple times.

Confronting someone who's an adult, an a parent, about basic hygiene and etiquette is always hard.
