Be thankful you don't have an electric car, you'd STILL be there filling up :)

When you thought you "future-proofed" twin Cat 6 runs several years ago, but the new plan sees you about 3m short! Grrr.

Do I re-draw two 40m runs, or look at putting in fibre between house and workshop?

Another parcel wait. Posted using airmail from UK on 29 Nov and still not here. Officially not overdue till the 27th Dec, but how long can airmail take...

That is a long time for airmail.

Especially given the cost of sending things abroad these days - it has reached astronomical levels. I had to sign some family papers when my father died and it cost me $65 just to send a few sheets of A4 by tracked courier to the solicitors in London.

Probably shouldn't have been so cheap and paid for them to send it with tracking. Still, early days 😀

Its $87 by courier to South Africa btw. They'll only send using International Express Courier. Then of course I had too send some corrections - two A4 sheets, another $87.

Still cheaper than going there to deliver it yourself. Im amazed that some people will cheap out on a $7 across auckland next day courier and instead spend an hour driving to pick things up at work, but go figure.

So glad I don't live in Auckland then...we have to drive for an hour to even see a traffic light.

Drivers

Today I nearly got nailed by someone who hasn't gotten the 2012 road rule change "if you're turning right give way"

Then I went into a parking lot, and was confronted with a giant SUV busy scanning for a parking space, and driving up the middle. She didn't notice me until I was beside her.

And when leaving, a little old lady driving down the road with her turn signal permanently blinking.

For a first world country, a lot of people drive like it's Mexico or India.

Just goes to show how often I (don't) go that way.

Buying a brand new laptop with the latest Intel 10th Gen chipset to find out it comes with Windows 1903 - almost a year after it was released and having to update to Windows 1909 out of the box.

I bought this TV as a present to myself, from JB Hi Fi: TCL 75" TV

On the positive side, when I brought it to their attention that Noel Leeming price was lower at $1994, they refunded the difference, so kudos on that.

On the slightly annoying side, they sent me an email saying it had shipped by Courier Post, but failed to get the tracking number.

It weighs 33 KG, so definitely going to need a friend to hang it.

Here's a review of the TV if anyone's interested.
