msukiwi:

Companies who have a website showing an item as "In Stock" at your local branch, do a special trip to get the item.

Only to find that they have none, and a staff member when asked if they have any says "Oh, we haven't had any for ages!"

and..."The website is always showing things are in stock, long before we actually get them"!!!

Geez, if phoning you to get an honest answer as to whether an item was in stock actually happened, I would check by phone first!

Were we given an eta for the item? Nope - only "They are coming"!

I'm looking at you Bunnings.

(The item is still shown as "In Stock" at Bunnings Riccarton as of now)

I feel your pain.  I was two sentences into your post and thought to myself "yep, happened to me at Bunnings (Wellington city)". I get to the end of your post and what do you know.

I get frustrated by the website of all the mainstream hardware sellers, their search facilities seem to have intelligence akin to a fence-post.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

dimsim: Tearable (pun intended) paper/cardboard tabs on food packaging that simply don’t work as seem to be stuck with max-bond or something similar.

I've concluded that the designers of boxes of washing powder have never actually tried to open them.

They probably use liquid in their washing just to avoid the tear tabs they designed!

Still better than jaycars site where the only way to find things is to use google instead.

It's warm over there, my mother made me walk to school in the snow, no shoes, uphill in both directions!

Me! Proudly so. And at least one other Geekzoner I know of. Don't make assumptions about people.

Don't move overseas. In the UAE you can't sign up to any services (including banks, utilities or any other services) without a mobile.

Many years ago it snowed in LA and it was such a novelty that all the schools were closed so the kids could play in it.

No doubt things will change here, but at present I am a happy Kiwi who feels grateful and privileged to live here. I have no wish to have another OE.

Such as bacon packaging where the clear film ought to tear away from the underside. Only Countdown have achieved this wonder.

Companies that provide a mobile website that doesn’t work and don’t provide a link to switch to the full desk top experience. I’m looking at you Hirepool and Kennards!

On both websites you have to enter your post code in a pop up window to find your nearest branch. However after entering you post code you can’t scroll down to hit the confirm button. Both websites work perfectly fine on a laptop but are unusable on a phone.

Works for me?

Are you using an extreme text size on the phone? I've seen that push things offscreen before.

Not using any special font size, still not working for me. I've tried both Safari and Chrome on an iPhone 8, neither work. Confirm your branch just won't come up.
