Companies who have a website showing an item as "In Stock" at your local branch, do a special trip to get the item.

 

Only to find that they have none, and a staff member when asked if they have any says "Oh, we haven't had any for ages!"

 

and..."The website is always showing things are in stock, long before we actually get them"!!!

 

Geez, if phoning you to get an honest answer as to whether an item was in stock actually happened, I would check by phone first!

 

Were we given an eta for the item? Nope - only "They are coming"!

I feel your pain.  I was two sentences into your post and thought to myself "yep, happened to me at Bunnings (Wellington city)". I get to the end of your post and what do you know.

I get frustrated by the website of all the mainstream hardware sellers, their search facilities seem to have intelligence akin to a fence-post.
