Since we all got shown our results compared to a random 1,006 sample, it would be interesting to see how different the samples looked.

I got 11/13 for the News Quiz. The only two I got wrong were guesses for the first "who is this?" question and the new senator of Massachusetts. I try to keep up with world politics but stop short at learning who all the senators of the United States are!

I would like to see a quiz on the electoral and government system and see how many Americans understand it. Same with New Zealand.

I expected I'd get 13/13 but still a bit nervous taking it! Haha.

12/13..

100%

I wonder how younger people get on as my kids are only taught inquiry based learning and so learn few facts at school = college.

You answered 13 of 13 questions correctly.
You scored better than 93% of the public and the same as 7%.

I won this game, you just lost it.

13 (Science) +11 (News).

Missed the new senator and the attorney general...

Best question was the continental drift one, I was wondering who would answer false, then I remembered the creationists....

Ok, interesting family result here... (Science)

Adult 1, 13/13
Adult 2, MSc Hons 12/13 (after a bottle of Pinot Gris) atmosphere, what's that??

Kid 1, 15yo, 12/13 (what's fracking?)
Kid 2, 12yo, 10/13 (why am I doing this?)

Both kids are pretty clued-up.

Conclusion: most people only need to know what they need to.

Love to see John Key do this.

11 out of 13 for me got question 2 (Atoms vs Electrons) and 7 (Earth's Atmosphere) but I do feel these are something learnt at college level science and I feel I should have got more right :-)

13/13 (science), didn't even think about many of them.

11/13 (news), to be fair this kind of knowledge is worthless to me.

100% because I paid attention in primary school ;)

Despite the score, when I saw the thread title I immediately said to myself, yup!

To be fair, while it's the trend to hate on the average American, I have little confidence most countries would get a higher average except for maybe some Scandinavian ones!
