Whatever it is Trademe are making assumptions with IP addresses that should not be made.

don't take this personally, but i think you're making the assumption that TradeMe is making that assumption based solely on IP addresses. You have presented no proof to support that. Yes, they cancelled your account, but have you confirmed that it's really just because of the IP address?

even if the whole world completely and absolutely adopted IPv6 for every single device, i can still check my TM account on my wife's/partner's/gf's/mate's device - leading to the same issue.

There will be up to 100 people accessing TradeMe from a single IP address at my workplace. Not a problem of this nature. There are far bigger workplaces (headcount) in the country.

Certainly, I can be logged in on both my desktop web browser and the TM app at the same time. I'm somewhat certain that TM has also allowed me to be logged into TM on both my desktop web browser and my laptop web browser at the same time. Maybe that has changed recently but I'd be surprised.

App + browser appears to be fine, but multiple browser sessions appear to be limited to one per account now. At least for me it is.

Multiple accounts per IP is fine.

Does anyone know how to close a Trademe account for good?

I'm not impressed how sellers are now selling / drop shipping from China.

If my secondhand leftover items etc are going to be swamped by new items

then I can't see the point anymore. I will just dump stuff in the landfill and

trademe will get no fees at all from me or my family.

Recently I listed a rare item that was no longer needed, an old car part,

the exact same item was then listed from China within a week. I know for sure

there was not that item for sale before I listed my old one.

There was an article of an Australian guy making thousands per week

from the Gold Coast, drop shipping from China and having teams of people

dredge trademe's site to see what has lots of views.
