wally22:

In the video at 46:00 the stylised map has not got NZ on it :(

To be fair, Australia looks like it has a direct land link to Indonesia, so not a great map all round really...

Good lord that was a lot of video to watch.

I've always considered Synology a SOHO device company, but it certainly looks like they have some aspirations of breaking into the enterprise world. I can't see them going toe to toe with Backup Exec or Commvault etc anytime soon thou.

Step 2 in the process.

Synology and I go way back starting with a DS710plus.  Then a DS214SE got added and DSM 7 came along.  What to do, what to do?  Retired the 710 and 214, actually gave them to friends a splurged on a DS720plus.  What a great NAS with DSM getting better and better. Never had a hardware failure in my small sample of Synology machines.

I just like badges and already have a few NAS's so don't want to take an entry away from someone else.

Got an 8 bay DS1817 that only has 3 drives in it currently.  So still more room for expansion than I'm ever likely to need I think.  But badges are cool. :-)

My Synology NAS DS412+ is a purchase I've never regretted, but it stills works so well that I can't justify upgrading. (Happy to donate my old one for a good cause if I get a newer one...)

So yes please, give me a badge so everyone can respect my authoritah!
