TheUngeek: Those who look after their health will only consume those things very rarely. So extra price won't be a problem.
). Also, exercise is used as an excuse - "No matter how much I exercise I still put on weight". The fact is that one has to exercise one hell of a lot to burn up the extra energy consumed through over eating. People just need to cruise the internet where there are plenty of tables that show how much exercise one has to do to burn up calories, and it doesn't make any difference if they come from so called "healthy food" or so called "unhealthy food". In fact when people exercise the body's natural reaction is to want to eat more; that even if one is overweight already.

Clearly Subway should be taxed at a lower rate than McDonalds.
Oh, except for their bad subs, and maybe the cookies... And the sugared drinks...
Oh, and obviously the Salads etc from McDonalds should be taxed at a lower rate as well - and their fruit bags..
Damnit! You see what you've done? You've inadvertently pointed out through an innocent question that any such "Fat Tax" is going to have countless holes and exceptions in it!!!
Oh wait, I see... Clever :-)
