Is there some fad here that I'm not aware of?

All NZ males over 30 should have received the memo that you must get dressed in the dark to stop frightening the children.

There should be a little knob on the door handle that you can twist to prevent access. If not, get one!

My wife is a lark and I am an owl. She is usually in bed asleep at least 2 hours before me. That means I creep about in the dark getting ready for bed. Need to ID which way round sleeping T shirt goes in the dark? M&S labels always on the left seam if you are wearing it correct way round!

Small thing that annoys me? Seeing my son work so damn hard all through summer to get into a sports team that he deserves a place in, but being denied the opportunity on the basis of the coach being the sole selector and there being nepotism and politics at play...

His son and his son's best school mates are making up a decent sized chunk of the team and a few of them are not good enough to be there. Also club chairman and committee members are also parents of kids in team.

Quite upsetting to see the amount of effort expended by a young boy (who is very good at what he does and ridiculously dedicated) to fit into a group that simply will not take him unless someone leaves and one of their friends is not available to fill the void.

Yep, that's B$. Unfortunately nepotism is alive and well in a lot of kids sports teams.

People who rush into a lift as soon as the door opens and don’t allow the occupants to leave first.

Yes it's B/S. It's been going on forever.

Two options.

You need to get on the committee.

Go to another team, if your son is as good as you say I'd guess other teams would want him.

Probably the same people who drive in the fast lane instead of pulling to the left to allow others to pass.  No SA what so ever.

Have considered option 1 and option 2 will be next season, as we have already paid the $750 in fees for him to be part of the club, unfortunately.

What sport?

Seems like a lot of fees.

Agree - it is BS, and it happens.

Sadly there's always this risk with parent run sport. And the way schools are going, there will be more and more of them (IE schools having less to do with extra curricular activities).

Can you get any of the fees refunded? I assume he still gets to play, just for a lower team?
