You mean the ones that adapted?

Killed animals for food and clothing and burnt stuff to stay warm?

Just have a look around at all the adaptions to your current climate that a high energy society has produced. What produced the roof over your head? The chair you are sitting in? The clothes that you are wearing that were produced half a world away and transported here so you could be kept warm and dry outside, or protected from the Sun.

Correct, but what you are avoiding is balance. There could be a couple of volcanoes that erupt in 2022 and emit more than what we are. But they wont erupt at that level for 200 + years, which is what we do. Industrial revolution is where it all started, but that made NO difference . The coal they burned is insignificant. But from 1980 till now CO2 emissions have doubled. Population and technology. What will 2000 to 2030 do? Same time period. Exponential.

Yes. Because actually not destroying the climate is a very sensible human adaption. Just as we humans responded to the destruction of the ozone layer - by not destroying the ozone layer anymore.

By not catastrophising everything you mean?

Ahem, Venus, Ahem.

Fairly self explanatory link.

I think covid might have something to say about that.

There's only one thing politicians focus on. Staying popular.

I was incorrect it is not the politicians that must focus on climate change all New Zealanders need to focus on climate change.

I was also incorrect. It's not staying popular - it's getting elected.

Yep, and as Mike alluded to, people need to act, make changes and make climate change the big deal it is, make it popular, make it an election issue.

how many electric cars do we need to offset the wider global emissions as a result of the Russian special military operations?

(typing as I parked my Nissan Leaf and wondering if we are ever going to see the Kia EV6)

Won’t Vlad sort that by dropping a “couple of buckets of sunshine”. =nuclear winter=global cooling.
