@MikeB4

The Tupperware one we have looks like this:

Effectively, what it appears to do is break the seal between the can and the lid, after you use it to break the seal, you use the end of it to "grab" the edge of the lid and pull it off the can.

Pretty simple and effective.

We have one similar to this. We purchased it at the Home Show about 15 years ago and it is still working like new.

Purchased a couple of similar "seal breakers" from AliEx a 3 years ago - still on the first one.

I did try a couple of locally purchased that claimed to do similar, but all they did was cut the can leaving a lethally sharp edge.

This annoys me - that looks like corn.

I used to like corn, but I did some technical work at the Chch sewage treatment plant a few years ago.  There's some primary screening before the stuff goes to the digesters, a few items were recognisable - condoms, false teeth etc.  The most predominant recognisable artifacts however were corn kernels by the billion - and I swear they looked as clean and fresh as the ones in that can.  It could be repackaged - then you'd have the perpetual motion machine of human nutrition - yet I'd be the only person in the world starving to death.

Just get one of these - cheaper and quieter.  Possibly less dangerous

Geektastic: The lack of robustness in the electricity supply.

Second outage in a week. Not helpful when everyone working from home. Needs much more work on resilience.

And again today. Same place.

When you received an email from The Warehouse saying your parcel was delivered but there is nothing in the mailbox or front door.

Then you call NZ Post and the recording says "We are too busy so won't take your call."

Then you start the Live Chat on The Warehouse website and the person goes offline leaving you there.

Then you call The Warehouse and have been on-hold for 30 minutes now.

Update: when the next song in the playlist starts with "Hello" and you think someone answered your call.

The whole ‘Courier Post Delays’ thread. Surely people could be tolerant. I doubt any of the ordered items are of overwhelming urgency.
