Really liking Ozark at the moment.  So refreshing to see Jason Bateman in a non-comedic role.  He always played the straight man in comedies anyway, so not out of place in this type of role at all.  Very suspenseful show, about a money launderer who gets mixed up in a plot to rip off a Mexican cartel and has to move to the middle of nowhere to try and set up a new laundering ring, with the threat of death to him and his family coming from all sides.  Some great dialogue too.

Yes, really enjoyed Ozark - sort of Breaking Bad-ish - ordinary guy gets involved in heavy crime but makes quite a good fist of it.

Some good black humour in there too.

Have been googling trying to find out whether a second season has been announced but can't see anything.

Watching Comrade Detective on Amazon Prime. A spoof comedy/detective series that is supposedly a "found copy of a Romenian TV series from the 80s, during the cold war". The series was filmed with local actors, then dubbed over by American actors. The shots at the "American Imperialism" and "Decadent Capitalism" plus the "Comunism is the great" are quite funny.

Watching "The Undertaker" on Netflix NZ. German (set in Switzerland), with English subtitles. Ex cop who is now an undertaker. Ep 3 of Series 1 ended a little weirdly, but now into Series 2 and enjoying.

'Plane Resurrection' on Netflix - UK doco series on vintage aircraft restoration - brilliant if, like me, you're into that sort of thing.

Another good one is Mr Mercedes. Its a Stephen King physch type thriller....a bit slow for first few episodes but really enjoying it now.

I reluctantly watched that after the Mrs insisted. It's a bit slow to start but I got into it after the first few episodes and I'd rate it as a very good series.

Watched  Million Yen Women on Netflix and it was... interesting. Probably a 7/10 here.

Season 2 wasn't nearly as good.  It was just bizarre and didn't really go anywhere, in my opinion.

just watched The Deuce on Sky demand, a HBO series on the birth of the porn industry in the 70's in Time Square before Disney took it over . It's really good and they nail the 70's vibe . not for everyone but it is well done.  8/10.

Sorry it's by the same people who  did The Wire, it's what made me watch it.

'Atypical' on Netflix. Comedy about an autistic teenager - which could have potential to be awful if not done well but IMO is done brilliantly.
