An Albany (Auckland) appliance store has a written policy on its website that says: “In the case of a lower advertised price being offered by a competitor within 7 days of purchase, we will refund you back to the lower advertised price from that competitor”.

To me this means that if I buy something from them for $100 and within seven days a competitor advertises it for $90, then the first store will refund me $90. Right? Bet that’s not what they intend but that is what they say. Would love to put it to a test. Amateurish wording.

Yes  - course @behodar and @networkn are correct - it isn’t amateurish wording, it was amateurish reading. I need these sorts of reality checks to bring my smartA back down to earth. Thanks guys.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

So yesterday I went to play a downloaded MKV file. It worked fine on my desktop. On my Shield it stuttered and the audio went silent. After some brief fiddling I decided to just Cast it. Chrome on my laptop suddenly decided it could not find any cast device. So I took the @%@#% laptop and plugged it into the TV HDMI. It would only display in a window.

As a last resort, I plugged the USB drive into my Chinese Mecool combo receiver. It played perfectly, HD video and Dolby surround sound. Not a glitch all the way through.

Why, in this day and age, is compatibility still so difficult to achieve?

The preceding should be in Annoyances. Somehow I posted it in the wrong thread and now I can't delete it. If only I were Trusted!
