This one is only audio. A chilling short story by horror maestro H P Lovecraft:
Please don't read the comments until you've listened to the whole story.
An old one:
Chimps can learn to do this for a peanut. Humans generally can't do it very well - if at all. IMO, this hasn't been adequately explained, a hypothesis being that humans evolved to "lose" short term memory recall to free-up our mental resources for "higher thought" - our mental "bandwidth" would be cluttered up by the need to process and commit to memory everything we encounter, so we unconsciously evaluate, prioritise, and discard information. IOW our relatively poor memory recall is a feature, not a bug. Could be correct, but IMO it smacks of having an anthropocentric origin.
Edit to add comment - the stupid human who posted this clip on Youtube couldn't even remember that chimps aren't "monkeys".
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Why the internet breaks: Sharks!
Yup - the next time you get a 404 page itmigh be becuase of sharks. Seriously!
Apparently sharks are attracted to the magnetic field created by the high voltage carried through newer undersea cables and, thinking they’re fish, they bite them. Then, if underwater footage is anything to go by, they realise their mistake and swim away from the damage they have caused.
There is some good news. The cables are now largely shark-proof ...
