Stupid people spouting stupid non-sense, but as the saying goes. You can't argue with stupid or they will drag you down and beat you with their experience.

So many things I start to respond to, but I end up not replying, as I know it will simply get taken out of context and/or everyone jumps on the band wagon of misunderstanding (sometimes purposefully), it's possible to disagree with someone or something without supporting the opposing view. I guess this actually describes so many situations these days, it seems it's almost impossible to have a decent discussion about matters or issues without rhetoric/emotions/personal attacks. In these types of discussions/debates, you should be able to argue ideas without suddenly being labelled. I mean isn't that where things like philosophy and democracy began?

Presidents elected in a democracy who have to flee from their own people because of their undemocratic behavior.

That people can't use one of the existing 500 threads where people complain about Trump, to complain about Trump.

Nobody mentioned Trump. It is increasingly applicable to presidents in South America and Europe.

People who think they have to tell me who may or may not annoy me how, where or why and where I can complain about it. :-)

If the number of vehicles I have seen recently with:

One or both Tail Lights not working

One or more Stop Lights not working

One Headlight not working

Excessively noisy vehicle

And that's just what you see an hear!

There must be a hell of a lot of Unwarrantable vehicles on the road!

I had a headlight out for a good 8 weeks - wasn't able to get it fixed and the way the bulbs go in, I couldn't do it myself safely.

I drove that car (obviously not very much, due to lockdown) with one headlight out of necessity, but got it fixed and then got a WOF as soon as I practically could.

Brake and tail lights are even harder to notice if you don't have a car that warns you (mine thankfully tells you which light is out on the dash readout).

People only find these things out when they are pointed out (often when they go for their annual service and/or WOF).

Speak for yourself - irresponsible people maybe. I check lights, fluids, tyres etc on my vehicle once a week, and every time I drive my wife's car (once a month maybe). It's not hard to do a simple first parade to make sure the vehicle you're driving is safe and legally able to be driven on the road.

Once a week still leaves 6 days where something could have failed and you wouldn't necessarily know.

How do you check your brake lights? Does the car tell you?

A valid point - my wife tends to get cranky when I check before every drive though :D

Better once a week than once a wof...

If your car is in a garage, turn the ignition on, depress the brake pedal, look in your wing mirrors to see if there is red illumination behind the vehicle.

Unfortunately my vehicle isn't clever enough for that, but I park under a carport that has a solid rear wall - you can tell if the lights are working pretty easily looking in the mirror when they are applied. For checking a trailer lights before towing, I have a screwdriver that lives in the vehicle which is the perfect length to rest between the driver's seat mount and brake pedal to apply enough pressure to activate the lights. Easy one person job.
