Once a week still leaves 6 days where something could have failed and you wouldn't necessarily know.

A valid point - my wife tends to get cranky when I check before every drive though :D

Better once a week than once a wof...

You should give your wife some lessons on responsibility then.

How do you check your brake lights? Does the car tell you?

My Dad (Motor Engineer) insisted that we do weekly walk around our cars to check, lights, tyres, oil, water, body work, seatbelts, door, window, trunk and hood function. I have passed this habit onto my kids. If you are on your own it is easy to check brakes. Rest something against the break pedal and and walk to the back of the vehicle and check that all brake lights are functioning including the high stop light.

I'd suggest backing up against a wall or other similar surface and checking rear and side mirrors for red illumination would be quicker and simpler...

That is OK to a point but as the brake lights are bright like most modern cars it is very difficult to determine if all are working especially the high stop brake light.

Headlights can be checked as you go by looking at the reflection on the back of the car in front at lights/junctions etc.

I am always astounded by the number of cars being driven around with one headlight out.

I've had cars in the past that tell me on the display when a light has failed - doesn't say which one but then at least you know to check them.

Not sure if my current car does this because I've never had a light fail in it.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Probably increasingly a thing of the past in the era of LED car lighting.

1p per 100 pounds, per year.

On the up side, it's still a positive return :-)

Might be worth moving your money to NZ, depending on what you think the NZD will do vs the GBP.

Dealing with the local service agent for my car. I had to wait half an hour to drop my car off for a pre-booked appointment and another half an hour for them to bring it back out after they'd called me to say it was ready.

Normally service in Dubai is very responsive. The ford agent is outstanding to deal with.

I'm certainly not bringing it back for servicing, the quality I get from an independent garage is amazing compared to this.

That so many websites clutter the screen up with intrusive banners that cover half of the text on screen, then popups about cookies, privacy policy, then an invitation for a survey, then another which covers most of the screen asking you to sign up for their newsletter or to subscribe to their page. Get this intrusive crap off the screen and just let me read the site.

I also hate the independent Pron websites.

Trying to email legal document with confidential details to my work account and getting it quarantined because its encrypted and cant be scanned/read. Spent 30 minutes on phone to it support waiting to get it released.

Well isn't that the point of passwords on confidential documents...
