I suppose one might question the sanity of doing 80kmh on a bicycle, but perhaps that is another whole discussion!

I may or may not have exceeded that down the world's steepest street.

I can confirm that coming off at less than 50km/h and on the road is band enough. The helmet saved me from a lot worse so for higher speeds I would want a better helmet

And yet not long ago we had cyclists complaining that they shouldn't be forced to wear helmets. Crazy...

Relevance?

As far as I know, the heads and brains of New Zealanders are identical to those of Europeans.

There is no NZ developed standard for this, so adopting the European one seems like a sensible solution given identical anatomy.

I cannot help you understand that - I did not create the regulation, I merely found it.

I never said I was sane. I just question the reasoning behind a higher standard for pedelec’s over a standard bike when both are capable of reaching insane speeds?

People on twitter (YouTube and forums in general) who don't use the quote/reply button (or don't know how to use it correctly) resulting in a whole slew of disjointed replies that don't make any sense because the posts/tweets are devoid of context.

I’ll guess.

It’s because the average person can travel at 45+ on the electric option regardless of skill. However a significant percentage of riders won’t ever dare try for 80kmh on a standard bike.

Arguably few, if any, bike helmets would be designed with an 80kmh fall in mind I would think.

You see this A LOT on Reddit. And the way that Reddit threads go off-kilter so quickly it can be quite hard working out what the intent of a non-reply reply actually is.

Woke up yesterday with sore eyes, sore nose, sore throat, feeling like I had covid.  Continued to feel awful, then noticed at about midday that there were some of these I hadn't seen in a bunch of mixed flowers in the living room.  Supposedly if you carefully cut the stamens out then problem solved. I'm not prone to allergies, hay fever , asthma etc - but I hate these. Had a kid with asthma stay here years ago, there was a bunch of these near his room - we nearly needed to get an ambulance.

People asking questions that have been answered already in a short thread. They are trying to help but just read the thread.
