gzt:  I'd guess Key will take it off him assign it to someone else after the election is over anyway for exactly this reason.

We're heading into an election.

Really I think this is up to the New Zealand public to send a message if they choose.

Most people I talk to have no issue with what happened at all and are still very happy to vote National.

Frankly I haven't even seen anyone from Labour or the Greens raise what I think are the important issues on this issue.

While some of us have a strong view here on Geekzone, my impression is most people just don't care about this issue.

D

Yeah, I don't see more than a couple of people changing their vote over this. It's just not worth it. The real test for Brownlee (and therefore National on the list) will be how well he handled the rebuild.

Brownlee is in Ilam.

Most of the damage there was cosmetic and it's mostly been fixed as I understand it.

The roads in that area have had most of their work done.

Riccarton has become the new CBD and the area is just teeming with thriving retail.

I would think that he's very comfortable in his seat.

Typically I'm a Labour/Green voter.

But I have to confess even I am looking at National/InternetMana this year.

I am less than impressed with Labour.

I don't see the country benefiting from a party plagued with endless infighting.

Brownlee should be gone over this airport thing, but I do have to hand it to National that they consistently pull together and support each other.

DC took 3 days off to be with his family and people in his party have ago at him.  To me, the Labour party was meant to be about workers rights, the 40 hour working week, fair wages, reasonable holidays and paid over time.  The party just doesn't appear to have integrity to me.

Sorry but I find that unreasonable.

Mr Brownlee is effectively the boss of your orginisation.

It was a question that the boss should not have asked.

From an employment point of view, he asked a staff member to engage in an illegal act on behalf of the company.

Where is it legislated he is their boss ?

It's easy to be dismissive when you're not the employee at the door facing an insistent minister of the crown and entourage. If I was a gambling man, I'd put money on you letting you him through too

I can assure you, you would lose that bet.
