bongojona: my question - why isn't Tiketek asking Trademe to remove all auctions of tickets that are above face value (plus resonable costs) ?

they should at least attempt to enforce their own Terms & Conditions

Trademe says they cannot act off request from third party (such as the Highlanders)


Yeah, good question! You would have thought that Ticketek would take more interest rather than just to cancel the ones that are clearly identifyable! All Ticketek are doing is devaluing their own brand and saying "We don't really care".

I don't really see the big deal with scalping. Sounds just like the Auckland property market...
I would've thought surely it's as simple as limiting 4 tickets per credit card. Or allocate tickets for manual purchases, IE the good old fashioned line up in the cold.

I know a friend who went to the Soccer World Cup a few years ago, they had their passport numbers on the tickets (or it may have been credit card) and they had to present that as well to get into the games.
