Maybe their testing day didn't go as well as expected? Or all their warehouse staff called in sick to watch the Ashes?!

If they do that, I suspect they'll be former employees fairly swiftly!

Just had to add...looking for a multi-plug adapter for travel that takes anything and plugs into anything. $40 from Amazon

Found the same on a NZ retailer site. NZ$136, delivery in 3 months...(yes, it says months...!)

Edit - of course, it's only the GST that would make me shop overseas.....

ermat: I purchased an up spec tv recorder when i was living in ausi a couple of years ago from harvey norman and it took them 3 weeks to supply. Apparantly this was not uncommon from all accounts. Wouldn't be hard for Amazon blow HN away on service from my experience.

I ordered some shaver cleaner cartridges from them online in NZ around 6 weeks ago. A simple $40 order, of something they had in stock.

Took 9 days to be delivered to my wife at work, was actually delivered to a guy in a different company on a different floor of the same building.

I ordered $100 of stuff from Amazon to go to my brother in the US. He had it in less than a day.

And thats just the bad HN service we are discussing, never mind the price. Amazon pricing will smash the likes of HN. Its about time we had some real price competion in NZ, we have been milked on price forever.

You have that backwards. If you don't do that at least once, you get kicked out of the country. And you don't want to know what happens if you try to work after midday on Melbourne Cup day!

Did Amazon make a reference to the fact it could deliver every item or even service New Zealand? It's Amazon Australia. Complain if they can't deliver within Australia!

There are reshipping services if you wish to have items not delivered to NZ, delivered anyway.

As at this point they haven't but the assumption has been in the press and here on GZ that they will delver to NZ..

Looked and a bit disappointed.

Had a quick look for Ryobi One+ tools and there are none. Some Ryobi accessories such as driver bit sets twice the NZ Bunnings price.

Still issues with items that don't deliver to NZ.

You know what happens when you assume, right?

Perhaps their intention (quite reasonably) is to make sure Australia deliveries and demand can be met before embarking on deliveries across another ocean.

The reasons I, and I believe most Kiwis, are interested in Amazon being in Australia, are delivery to NZ and simplifying customs/GST issues. Otherwise why bother with the monkey when you can deal direct with the organ grinder?

And it may come to pass that they do deliver to NZ and satisfy your preference, however it's a little unreasonable to expect it day one. It's not Amazon Australasia, nor Amazon AUNZ, it's Amazon Australia and without confirmation from the company itself, it would service NZ, ever.

It probably will, but perhaps some patience might be in order.

http://www.amazon.co.nz still redirects to the UK site too.

Edit: It looks like "no delivery to NZ" might be a bug; I've tried several items including little things like DVDs and they all say that they can't be sent to NZ, despite being signed into my account, with my address selected, and availability supposedly filtered for my address.
